Umbilical cord blood (UCB) represents a valuable graft source in the absence of a human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched donor for hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). Donor-specific anti-HLA antibodies (DSAs), targeting grafts with mismatched HLA antigens, pose a significant obstacle by increasing the risk of primary graft failure, delayed engraftment, and decreased survival. Existing literature on HLA desensitization has primarily focused on haploidentical transplants, and there is a lack of experience regarding the optimal strategy in UCB transplantation.

Intravaginal sponges impregnated with the progesterone (P4) analogue fluorogestone acetate (FGA) induce synchronous oestrous behaviour and normal ovulatory cycle in goats. To explore alternatives using natural P4 from plants, we developed a method of ethanolic extraction and a specific enzyme immunoassay (EIA) to measure P4 in the different parts of the walnut tree Juglans regia. We found a very high concentration of P4, specifically in the leaves of the three most common French varieties (∼100 mg/kg of DM) but not in flowers, fruits, septa, husk, oil or cake.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease that can cause extra-articular manifestations, in particular pleuropulmonary involvement, which is the second leading cause of death in this connective tissue disease. We report a rare pulmonary manifestation of RA. This was a 58-year-old patient being followed for RA on leflunomide with 3 excavated pulmonary nodules measuring 13 mm, 10 mm and 6 mm, for which the diagnostic hypotheses of infection, pulmonary metastases and rheumatoid nodules had been put forward.

Active ingredients are often assessed based on physiological measurements, but innovative technologies to measure skin sensations can provide a holistic volunteer assessment of the use of an ingredient. In this paper, the hydrating benefits of a cationic hyaluronic acid (HA) were evaluated alongside clinical biometrics and innovative cognitive measurements to determine how biological benefits correlated with volunteers' feelings and perceptions of hydration. The results demonstrated that cationic HA provides hydrating benefits at the clinical level due to its film-forming properties.
