The objective of this study was to evaluate the expert opinion of different surgical disciplines regarding the need for electrodiagnostic or ultrasound confirmation of UNE and, if so, which test was preferred for confirmation.
Methods: A questionnaire was sent to all neurosurgeons and plastic or hand surgeons in the Netherlands to evaluate the current practice in planning surgical treatment of UNE.
Background: This retrospective cohort study evaluated the longitudinal three-dimensional cranial shape developments and the secondary treatment aspects after endoscopically assisted craniosynostosis surgery (EACS) with helmet therapy and open cranial vault reconstruction (OCVR) for scaphocephaly.
Methods: Longitudinally collected three-dimensional photographs from scaphocephaly patients and healthy infants were evaluated. Three-dimensional cranial shape measurements and growth maps were compared between the groups over time.
An accurate transfer of a 3D virtual planned proportional condylectomy to the patient is challenging due to the limited surgical access. A new clinical workflow that uses augmented reality to assist a condylectomy is presented step-by-step. This AR-based approach has the potential to be implemented in the clinical setting routinely.
