Locoregional recurrence of breast cancer continues to be a significant clinical issue involving extensive examination programmes, modified oncologic therapy and advanced surgery. The latter includes tumour resection followed by reconstruction of the thoracic wall. The type of reconstruction depends on tumour location, depth, aetiology and whether the resection involves the stabilising osseous structures as summarised in this review.

We showed that by adhering to a few simple, easy to measure, functional discharge criteria, it was possible to safely discharge the patients by the third postoperative day (POD). However, one of the challenges of interpreting studies using ERP in ABR is the often heterogenous patient populations and the need to clearly distinguish between primary and secondary and unilateral and bilateral reconstructions.

A high suspicion is required to diagnose RCM as initial clinical manifestations are often nonspecific. A cornerstone of the management is early diagnosis and radical surgery, which often requires complex reconstructive procedures.

Both patients were successfully treated by microsurgical replantation within 24 hours and with post-operative leech treatment. Furthermore, a MEDLINE/PubMed search was performed for all scientific English articles of lip amputation and replantation using microsurgery.

Introducing the lengthening temporalis myoplasty (LTM), a newly implemented surgical treatment of chronic facial paralysis. LTM is a single-stage operation where the temporalis muscle is transposed for dynamic smile reconstruction, hereby serving as an alternative to the more complex two-stage microvascular functional muscle transplantation. This case report demonstrates how LTM can be used to treat patients, who are not motivated or suitable for extensive surgery.

FTS programmes have been reported from other surgical specialities, but there are few reports of FTS in plastic surgery.
Materials And Methods: Autologous breast reconstructions have been performed with abdominal free flaps since 1994.
All women who underwent breast augmentation at 1 public and 1 private clinic in Denmark from 1973 to 1988, and available for follow-up, were invited to participate in a clinical study including a self-administered questionnaire, medical record abstraction, and a clinical examination. One hundred ninety (52%) out of 368 eligible women participated. Mean time with implants in situ was 19 years (range, 5-35).

The authors evaluated long-term symptoms and conditions and medication use among 190 Danish women with cosmetic silicone breast implants compared with 186 women who had undergone breast reduction surgery and with 149 women from the general population. Breast implant and reduction surgeries were performed from 1973 to 1988 at one public hospital and one private plastic surgery clinic.
