Nevertheless, there is a risk of hematoma and radial artery occlusion (RAO), and substantial time may elapse until hemostasis is achieved.
Aims: We aimed to evaluate if an oximetry-guided deflation technique compared to a traditional rapid deflation technique was associated with earlier removal of the transradial band (TR-band) and lower rates of RAO following radial coronary intervention.
Chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) are associated with reduced quality of life, an increased risk of cardiovascular events and mortality, and substantial healthcare costs. Diagnostic testing algorithms and treatment strategies for this condition have evolved significantly. Design, Setting, And Participants: Multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted at 10 hospitals in Denmark.
Objective: To describe the clinical trial "Vasopressin and Methylprednisolone for In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest" (VAM-IHCA).
Methods: The VAM-IHCA trial is an investigator-initiated, multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel group, double-blind, superiority trial of vasopressin and methylprednisolone during adult in-hospital cardiac arrest. The study drugs consist of 40 mg methylprednisolone and 20 IU of vasopressin given as soon as possible after the first dose of adrenaline.

Methods And Results: We linked Danish nationwide registries to identify patients taking DAPT 7 days following hospital discharge for an acute MI, and excluded individuals on anticoagulation therapy.
Background: Data on nursing home admission after myocardial infarction (MI) in the elderly are scarce. We investigated nursing home admission within 6 months and 2 years after MI including predictors for nursing home admission in a nationwide cohort of elderly patients.

Background: The Stroke burden is increasing in many populations where health institutions may experience more patients. We wanted to examine whether incidence rates and absolute number of hospitalized stroke patients remained stable in Denmark during a 13 years period where exposure to major stroke risk factors decreased, changes in stroke treatment was implemented, and the age of the population increased.
Methods: The Danish National Patient Register was used to identify all subjects 25 years of age or above admitted with a first time stroke in Denmark from 1997-2009.
Aims: Undertreatment with evidence-based pharmacotherapy for heart failure (HF) is an important problem, and it has been suggested that specialized HF clinics (HFCs) can improve treatment initiation and correct dosing. The objective of this study was to examine long-term adherence to and dosages of evidence-based pharmacotherapy during and after participation in specialized HFCs.
Methods And Results: Initiation, dosages, and adherence were studied in patients with systolic HF attending HFCs in Denmark from 2002 to 2009.
Objective: Obesity is paradoxically associated with enhanced survival in patients with established cardiovascular disease. We explored this paradox further by examining the influence of obesity on survival in patients with verified atherosclerotic heart disease.
