Association of Inflammatory Markers with Disease Severity and Outcome in Covid-19 Patients.

: The coronavirus pandemic was associated with a high mortality rate in the Republic of North Macedonia. Finding early markers of the disease's severity may predict outcomes and guide the treatment of the disease. The aim of our study was to evaluate the role of inflammatory markers in predicting the outcome of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients.

Latent Tuberculosis Infection - Diagnosis and Treatment.

Introduction: Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is defined as a state of persistent immune response to stimulation by Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens without evidence of clinically manifested active tuberculosis (TB). Diagnosis and treatment for LTBI are important for TB, especially in high-risk populations. Tuberculin skin test (TST) and interferon-gamma release assays (IGRAs) are used to diagnose LTBI.

Neurotropin effect on the deformability and electrophoretic mobility of rabbit erythrocytes.

The effect of neurotropin (a drug with antioxidant action) on the deformability and electrophoretic mobility (EM) of rabbit erythrocytes was investigated and compared to that of endotoxin from E. Coli (0111:B4) using an electrooptical technique. Endotoxin decreased the erythrocyte deformability in vitro.

[Biotension of the corneal tissue preserved in a nutrient medium for tissue cultures at 4 degrees C].

The biotension generated by cells and tissues is connected quite well with the intensity of the metabolic processes in them and in seems that it is affected considerably by a series of external factors-temperature, salt content ect. For the purposes of transplantation in the present investigation the authors examined the effect of the nutritive medium for tissue cultures T-199 on the investigated biotension of the corneal tissue during the period of its preservation. They carried out studies on 335 corneas and the results were estimated statistically.
