Cancer awareness across borders: a comparative study of internet search trends for breast and prostate cancer in Europe and Turkey.

Objectives: The governments and private organizations strongly support cancer awareness campaigns. It remains unknown whether the campaigns during the awareness months have the same effect in every country. This study aims to compare the impact of awareness campaigns conducted in October for breast cancer and September for prostate cancer on internet search trends among the most populous European countries and Turkey.

Recurrent Solitary Fibrous Tumor in Intradural Extramedullary Space: Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma (SFT/HPC) is a rare neoplasm arising from spindle cells and most commonly arising from pleura. Spinal SFT/HPC is a rare entity; hence, it is not on the top of the differential diagnosis list when a clinician faces a spinal lesion. In the review of the literature, there exist less than 50 case reports of intradural extramedullary SFT/HPC.

Radiotherapy for Head and Neck Cancer: Evaluation of Triggered Adaptive Replanning in Routine Practice.

Purpose And Objective: A proportion of patients receiving radiotherapy for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) require treatment re-planning. The aim of this retrospective study is to analyze the patients who required re-planning and to identify factors, which may predict need for re-planning.

Is Single Cord Irradiation Going to Be a New Standard for T1a Glottic Carcinoma?

To evaluate the disease-free survival, overall survival, dosimetric, and voice handicap index (VHI) results of T1a glottic invasive squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) patients who underwent hypofractionated single vocal cord irradiation (HSVCI). The data of 18 patients with stage T1a glottic SCC were collected prospectively and analyzed retrospectively between July 2016 and July 2019. Patients were immobilized using a custom-fitted thermoplastic face and shoulder mask in hyperextension position.

Radiotherapy in Lung Cancer: Current and Future Role.

Lung cancer is divided into two subgroups concerning its natural course and treatment strategies as follows: non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). In this review, for NSCLC, the role of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in early-stage, chemoradiation in the locally advanced stage, post-operative radiotherapy for patients with high risk after surgery and radiotherapy for metastatic disease will be discussed. Also, for SCLC, the role and timing of thoracic irradiation and prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) for the limited and extensive stages will be discussed.

Capecitabine-cisplatin versus 5-fluorouracil/leucovorin in combination with radiotherapy for adjuvant therapy of lymph node positive locally advanced gastric cancer.

Aim Of The Study: Although surgery is considered to be curative treatment, recurrence rates are high in gastric cancer. Adjuvant 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) based chemoradiotherapy has been shown to improve the prognosis. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the breast in young male patient: a case report and a review of the literature.

MALIGNANT FIBROUS HISTIOCYTOMA (MFH) IS A FAIRLY COMMON TUMOR IN THE DEEP SOFT TISSUES: the most frequent primary sites are the lower (49%) and upper (19%) limbs, but it has been reported even in the retroperitoneum and abdomen (16%), while localization in the breast is extremely rare (1-2). Breast cancer is rarely seen in males, accounts for approximately 1% of all breast cancer, and the breast sarcomas constitute less than 1% of breast tumors in both sexes. In the review of the literature, this is the third male and first young male with MFH.
