Thyroid specimens were examined for pathological diagnosis and degree of lymphocytic infiltration in thyroid tissue, and thyroid function was evaluated again six weeks after surgery.

Material And Method: A retrospective review of T and T2 glottic squamous cell carcinoma patients undergoingfrontolateral laryngectomy in the department of Otolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital between 1986 and 2006 with a minimum of five years follow-up period
Results: Out of 55 patients who underwent frontolateral laryngectomy, 50 cases that fitted the criteria were recruited for the present study. After surgery, all patients but one had tracheotomy decannulation and recovered good respiratory function.
