Are multidisciplinary consultation meetings for prenatal diagnosis achievable in a low-income country? A descriptive cross-sectional survey in Benin.

Objective: The multidisciplinary antenatal diagnosis staff bring together practitioners who are involved in the management of the antenatal period at birth. This project was designed following the French experience to institute multidisciplinary consultation meetings for prenatal diagnosis (MCMPD) in Benin.

Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study examining the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of Beninese practitioners in the field of MCMPD to develop the pilot phase of the project.

Treatment of long bone fractures in children by elastic stable intramedullary nailing: Outcome and challenges in a unit with restricted technical platform.

Introduction: Elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN), developed by the Nancy school in France, is the gold standard for surgical treatment of long bone fractures in children. In Africa, few works have been devoted specifically to this technique.

Objective: This study aimed to describe the outcome and to present the challenges with this technique in the treatment of long bone fractures in children.

Congenital macrostomia management in children in a country with limited resources: A case series.

• Congenital macrostomia is an uncommon facial malformation in children. • The choice of the surgical procedure should be based on functional, aesthetic results and the surgeon's experience. • Even in underdeveloped countries, Z-commissuroplasty could be performed with good results.

Laparoscopic treatment of varicocele within adolescents in two African countries.

Unlabelled: Varicocele is often ignored by adolescents and their parents, in our context. The aim of the study is to present the indications and results of laparoscopic treatment in a population of adolescent students.

Subjects And Methods: It is a descriptive and analytical prospective study over a period of 9 months (January to September 2013), focussed on cases of varicocele Grade 3 found in adolescents during a screening, and who underwent surgical treatment by laparoscopy.
