The human septum verum represents a small but clinically important region of the brain. Based on the results of animal experiments, the stimulation of its medial part was recently proposed with various indications like epilepsy or cognitive impairment after traumatic brain injury. The aim of our study was to present the anatomical relationships of the human septum verum using fiber dissection and histological analysis to support its research and provide essential information for future deep brain stimulation therapies.

The incidence of early onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) in Canada has increased. To address the growing incidence of EOCRC, Colorectal Cancer Canada (CCC) developed the Never Too Young (N2Y) program to identify gaps in care and evaluate patient and caregiver experiences with CRC. The survey was available online using SurveyMonkey across Canada between 12 December 2022 and 1 May 2023.

Objective: The medial forebrain bundle (MFB) is a novel promising deep brain stimulation (DBS) target in severe affective disorders that courses through the subthalamic region according to tractography studies. Its potential therapeutic role arose in connection with the development of hypomania during stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) in Parkinson's disease, offering an alternative explanation for the occurrence of this side effect. However, until now its course exclusively described by tractography had not yet been confirmed by any anatomical method.

The aim of this research was to evaluate the mechanical impact of utilizing different fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) systems to reinforce inlay-retained bridges in dissected lower molars with different levels of periodontal support. A total of 24 lower first molars and 24 lower second premolars were included in this study. The distal canal of all molars received endodontic treatment.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the amount of periodontal support and the presence or absence of root amputation on the fracture resistance of intracoronally splinted maxillary molar teeth.

Materials And Methods: 48 extracted human upper first molars and 48 s premolars were included in the study. All teeth underwent standard mesio-occluso-distal (MOD) (molars) and standard occluso-distal (OD) (premolars) cavity preparation.

The arachnoid membranes' anatomy is a controversial topic in the literature, and the rhomboid membrane at the craniovertebral junction is an element of this system that has been described poorly. Hence, the objective of our study was to examine this membrane's anatomy and histology. A total of 45 fresh formalin-fixed human cadaveric heads were examined, and anatomic dissections and histologic examinations using standard staining methods were performed.

Objective: The septum pellucidum is a bilateral thin membranous structure representing the border between the frontal horns of the lateral ventricles. Its most examined components are the septal veins due to their surgical importance during endoscopic septum pellucidotomy (ESP), which is a well-accepted method for surgical treatment of unilateral hydrocephalus. It is widely accepted that the septum pellucidum contains nerve fibers as well, but interestingly, no anatomical study has been addressed to its neural components before.

Between 1991 and 1993, 32 cases of fingernail mycosis and 20 cases of toenail mycosis caused by dermatophytes were treated with terbinafine. For 8 weeks, 250 mg of terbinafine was given daily for fingernail infections, and for 12 weeks the same dose was given for toenail involvement; the short-term follow-up was 24 and 48 weeks respectively. A long-term follow-up was performed twice, initially at 24 and then at 48 months after the end of the treatment.

Chronic urticaria is considered to be a heterogeneous disease, which can be divided into several subclasses. The authors investigated 126 patients suffering from chronic urticaria with 41 of unknown origin. The aim of the present study was to work out a strategy for the complete investigation of patients with chronic urticaria.

The paper presents clinicopharmacological investigations of Arduan carried out in Hungary and in other countries. The aim of the research work is to find an ideal muscle relaxant without side-effects, which are mainly cardiovascular. Pipecuronium bromide (Arduan) is a compound with steroid structure; it has a long duration of action and, most importantly, it does not affect circulation.

Unlabelled: The data of 20 patients with subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) were evaluated according to clinical and laboratory criteria. We found the following laboratory deviations: elevated BSR, leucopenia, anti-dsDNA, anti-SSA/Ro and anti-SSB/La antibodies, positive LE cells, and elevated levels of IgE and immune complex. Aside from the characteristic skin eruptions in SCLE, the patients showed arthralgia, myalgia, and pronounced photosensitivity.

Several subtypes can be distinguished within the disease lupus erythematosus according to the clinical appearance, serological and histological findings. With their case reports the authors wish to present that there is no definitive dividing line among them in practice, but transitional appearances and forms also exist.

Alpha-fetoprotein, one of the most characteristic proteins of pregnancy, is present in the amniotic fluid during the whole period of pregnancy. In the case of premature rupture of the membranes it is appearing in the vaginal fluid. The level of AFP was measured by the ELISA technique in the vaginal fluid of pregnant women.

The total IgE level was measured by radioimmunosorbent test (Phadebas RIST, Pharmacia) in blood samples of 454 dermatological patients and 26 blood donors aged 14-70 years. The results showed different IgE values in the same groups of diseases. Elevated serum IgE values were observed in atopic dermatitis, drug allergy, discoid lupus erythematosus and chronic dermatomycosis.

The serum total-IgE level has been studied in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), in order to obtain data concerning the significance of IgE antibodies in the appearance of SLE symptoms. In most patients the serum IgE content was significantly higher in the active stage of the disease than during remission. The findings indicated a specific statistical distribution due to the multiple factors influencing IgE production and so an augmented IgE level cannot be regarded as a reliable feature of SLE activation.

Antibodies to double stranded ds DNA were comparatively studied in the sera of untreated DLE patients and in the sera of the same persons after one month's chloroquine administration by a modified ELISA technique. Antibodies were found in both IgG and IgM classes. Untreated DLE patients showed a significantly higher antibody level than the healthy controls.

Two different methods: the physicochemical PEG-test and the biological TA-test were administered for measuring the circulating IC-es. The investigations were performed in patients with DLE, sclerodermia, drug-eruptions and vasculitis as well as in control persons. The results obtained by both methods were discussed.

Lymphocyte subpopulations and serum immunoglobulins of patients with drug-hypersensitivity were studied. The results are as follows: Lymphocyte subpopulations: decrease of the E-rosette forming cells was observed in both active and symptom free state. The number of IgE-bearing lymphocytes in patients with drug-allergy was higher than that of the controls.
