Objectives: The authors aim to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and quality of life (QoL) of simultaneous explantation, capsulectomy, and mastopexy for patients requesting implant removal.
Methods: Two hundred sixty-two simultaneous explantation, capsulectomy, and mastopexy (ECM) procedures were performed in 131 patients from 2009 to 2019.
Introduction: Paclitaxel (PTX) interferes with microtubule architecture by binding to β-tubulin, thereby blocking progression at the G2/M phase and inducing apoptosis. This study aimed to investigate molecular processes underlying PTX-mediated resistance in gastric cancer (GC) cells.
Methods: PTX-mediated resistance involves many processes, and in this work some of the factors involved in the resistance mechanism were identified by comparing two GC lines with PTX induced resistance to their sensitive counterparts.

Methods: In a retrospective cohort of 265 patients with biopsy-proven NSCLC, 86 with available PD-L1 immunohistochemical (IHC) assessment and [18F]FDG PET/CT scans have been selected to find putative metabolic markers that predict PD-L1 status (< 1%, 1-49%, and ≥ 50% as per tumor proportion score, clone 22C3). Metabolic parameters have been extracted from three different PET/CT scanners (Discovery 600, Discovery IQ, and Discovery MI) and radiomics features were computed with IBSI compliant algorithms on the original image and on images filtered with LLL and HHH coif1 wavelet, obtaining 527 features per tumor.
Background: Massive weight loss after bariatric surgery can lead to excess skin associated with functional and aesthetic sequelae. Access to the benefit provided by body contouring procedures may be limited by insurance approval, which does not consider health-related quality of life. Background: We aimed to train and test a deep learning classifier to support the diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) using chest x-ray (CXR) on a cohort of subjects from two hospitals in Lombardy, Italy.
Methods: We used for training and validation an ensemble of ten convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with mainly bedside CXRs of 250 COVID-19 and 250 non-COVID-19 subjects from two hospitals (Centres 1 and 2). We then tested such system on bedside CXRs of an independent group of 110 patients (74 COVID-19, 36 non-COVID-19) from one of the two hospitals.

Unlabelled: Within the past decade, poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB) biosynthetic mesh has been introduced as a potential alternative to traditional biologic and synthetic mesh in ventral hernia repair (VHR). The aim of this study was to systematically assess clinical outcomes with the P4HB in VHR.
Methods: A literature search identified all articles published in 2000 involving the use of P4HB in VHR.

Background: There has been increasing interest in the superficial circumflex iliac artery perforator (SCIP) flap as a source of thin, pliable soft tissue combined with a favorable donor site. This study analyzes the biomechanical characteristics of a mesh-reinforced closure and evaluates a novel prophylactic mesh implantation device (SafeClose Roller System; SRS).
Materials And Methods: A total of eight senior-level general surgery trainees (≥4 years of training) from the University of Pennsylvania Health System participated in the study.
