The need to increase the Vertical Dimension of Occlusion (VDO) to restore lost dental function or optimise specific dental treatments is a common occurrence in daily dental practice. The common belief that the Vertical Dimension at Rest (VDR) is fixed hinders the development of restorations with a VDO that encroaches on or surpasses the interocclusal rest space (IRS), thereby preventing potential tissue damage to the masticatory apparatus. Recent studies have shown that the mandible rest position falls within a range termed as the "comfort zone".

Complete Removable Denture Retained by a Symphyseal Single Implant: A Case Report.

The aim of implantology is to optimize prosthetic balance and ensure that prostheses are perfectly integrated from a bio-functional viewpoint, despite an unfavorable anatomophysiological context. A relatively common oral health problem, gag reflex is a clinical challenge during dentures fabrication. In the current literature several techniques have been described regarding this clinical condition. The latter use either psychological, pharmacological and prosthetic therapies to treat these patients.

Denture Base Resin Coated with Titanium Dioxide (TiO): A Systematic Review.

Background: The main objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the effect of coating with titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO nanoparticle) on the surface condition of removable acrylic resin prosthetic base materials.

Methods: Our review is registered in the PROSPERO database under the identification code CRD42023397170. Electronic database searches of PubMed, Scopus and Science Direct including studies from January 2009 to January 2023 were conducted and supplemented with manual searches.

The recording of the maxillo-mandibular relationship (MMR) is an essential and unavoidable step that occurs at different stages of treatment during a prosthetic rehabilitation. Tissue duality is a major problem in metal partial dentures (MPD), especially in complete and large edentulisms, and is responsible for occlusal inaccuracies resulting in restorations that are not integrated with the patient’s manducatory system. In order to perform this step, the practitioner must choose the right material, make the appropriate support, and adopt a reliable and reproducible technique that is adapted to the clinical situation and the prosthetic step.

Impression techniques in Removable partial denture: epidemiological study.

Introduction: Various impression techniques are used in the realization of free-end extension partial denture, one of the imperatives is to respect the compressibility and behavior of the tissue during impression making as well as during function.

Aim: To evaluate the knowledge and practices of private practitioners regarding secondary impressions made during the management of terminal edentulism with metallic removable partial denture, and to search for possible correlations between prosthetic complaints and non-compliance with the various final impression standards in terms of materials, equipment and techniques.

The purpose of this article is to review literature about different occlusal schemes related to complete dentures' stability and edentulous patients' satisfaction, in order to select the most appropriate occlusal scheme.

Introduction: Edentulous patients often hope for stable and retentive prostheses. In very unfavorable anatomophysiological circumstances, the implant-retained removable full denture is a simple and reliable option that considerably optimizes the prosthetic balance. We present the case of one of those patients taken in charge in our department.

Effect and interaction study of acetamiprid photodegradation using experimental design.

The methodology of experimental research was carried out using the MODDE 6.0 software to study the acetamiprid photodegradation depending on the operating parameters, such as the initial concentration of acetamiprid, concentration and type of the used catalyst and the initial pH of the medium. The results showed the importance of the pollutant concentration effect on the acetamiprid degradation rate.

[Original conception of polymerized diagnostic wax-up in an occlusal rehabilitation of distal unilateral edentulous by combined prosthesis].

Rehabilitation by combined prosthesis is a therapy that requires a methodical approach especially in the case of large unilateral edentulous when all occlusal parameters are to be restored. The recording of the maxilla-mandibular position is requested at various stages of the treatment. In this context, the use of polymerized diagnostic wax up, is an evident tool for accurately recording and transfer of all occlusal data previously validated, yet concerning the global rehabilitation of unilateral distal edentulous, its stability and exact re-positioning at various prosthetic sequences remain uncertain.

[Prosthodontic care of orofacial clefts in adulthood: About a clinical case].

This paper relates, through a clinical case, the different steps of the prosthodontic rehabilitation of a palate-pharyngeal cleft, sequelae to surgery, by performing a Suersen’s Velar obturator since the soft Palate is divided but toned. A functional reeducation in conjunction with a prosthodontic care improves the quality of life’s patients and help for their resocialization. This therapeutic is non-invasive, quick, efficient and evolutive method.

Using Central Composite Experimental Design to Optimize the Degradation of Tylosin from Aqueous Solution by Photo-Fenton Reaction.

The feasibility of the application of the Photo-Fenton process in the treatment of aqueous solution contaminated by Tylosin antibiotic was evaluated. The Response Surface Methodology (RSM) based on Central Composite Design (CCD) was used to evaluate and optimize the effect of hydrogen peroxide, ferrous ion concentration and initial pH as independent variables on the total organic carbon (TOC) removal as the response function. The interaction effects and optimal parameters were obtained by using MODDE software.

The durability of dental implants depends on the presence of a 1mm coating bone sheath all around the fixture. Therefore, bone resorption represents a challenge for the practitioner. Bone expansion is a surgical technique that allows the management of horizontal bone atrophy.

[Evaluation of the knowledge, attitude and practices of orthodontists in relation to nickel allergy during orthodontic treatment].

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) of Moroccan dentists about allergy to Nickel (Ni) during orthodontic treatment.

Population And Methods: Dentists of two Moroccan cities (n = 553) were contacted and a questionnaire was distributed to those who have certified of partial or exclusive practice of orthodontics (N = 202). They were asked to specify the adverse reactions observed and the alloys frequently used.

Effects of sterilization and disinfection procedures on the corrosion of orthodontic ligature cutters.

Objective: The objective of our study was to investigate the corrosion resistance of orthodontic ligature cutters subjected separately to two different sterilization procedures, namely, autoclaving and chemical disinfection with main focus on the cutting section of each instrument.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-four ligature cutters were obtained from three different manufacturers: Hu-Friedy, ETM, and Nadir & Co. The study included a control group (G0) and four experimental groups (G1-4).
