The effects of telerehabilitation-based motor imagery training on motor imagery ability, motor function and physical performance in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Purpose: To explore the effects of telerehabilitation-based motor imagery (Tele-MI) training on motor imagery ability (MI), motor function, and performance in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

Methods: The research involved twenty-three children with DMD and twelve healthy children. DMD cohort were randomized into two groups: treatment [Tele-MI training and telerehabilitation-based physiotherapy program (Tele-PTP),  = 12] and control (Tele-PTP,  = 11).

Analysis of the summer thermal comfort indices in İstanbul.

Thermal indices and thermal comfort maps have great importance in developing health-minded climate action strategies and livable urban layouts. Especially in cities where vulnerability to heatwaves is high, it is necessary to detect the most appropriate indicators for the regional characteristics and action planning with respect to thermal comfort. The aim of the study is to examine thermal indices as indicators of regional climate characteristics by relating to meteorological parameters and spatial features.

Effectiveness of menstruation hygiene skills training for adolescents with autism.

Background: Adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may encounter many difficulties with their menstrual cycles. Potential challenges that adolescents with ASD may face include understanding physical changes, coping with symptoms, emotional sensitivity, communication, personal care, and hygiene.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of menstrual hygiene skills training given to adolescents with ASD on their menstrual hygiene skills.

Investigation of surface electromyography amplitude values during stair climbing task in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Objective: The aims of this study were (a) to examine the surface electromyography (sEMG) amplitude values of the lower limb muscles during stair climbing both between different functional levels of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), in comparison with healthy children, and (b) to investigate the relationships between sEMG amplitudes and physical performance.

Methods: sEMG amplitudes of the lower limbs of twenty-one children with DMD between levels I and III according to the Brooke Lower Extremity Functional Classification Scale and eleven healthy peers were evaluated by using sEMG during stair climbing task. Physical performance was evaluated by 6-min walk test and ascending 4-step timed performance test.

Objectives: Post-ischemic inflammation leads to apoptosis as an indirect cause of functional disabilities after the stroke. Melatonin may be a good candidate for the stroke recovery because of its anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, we investigated the effect of melatonin on inflammation in the functional recovery of brain by evaluating ipsilesional and contralesional alterations.

Examining the relationship between anhedonia symptoms and trait positive appraisal style in adolescents: A longitudinal survey study.

Introduction: Anhedonia, defined as a loss of interest and pleasure in previously enjoyable activities, is a core symptom of depression that predicts a poor treatment response in adolescents. We know little about the cognitive vulnerability factors that contribute to the development of anhedonia in youth. This cross-sectional and longitudinal survey study investigated the link between anhedonia symptoms and cognitive appraisal of positive affect.

Mental health of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder during COVID-19 pandemic: A systematic review.

Background: Children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may have great difficulties when their routines change, and this may affect the psychological well-being of their parents. For this reason, it is important to examine studies that address the mental health of parents in order to adapt to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Aim: To determine the mental health status of parents with children diagnosed with ASD in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clinical Features and Treatment Outcomes of Warm Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia: A Retrospective Analysis of 60 Turkish Patients.

We aimed to analyze 10-year experience of WAIHA patients at a single referral center in Turkey. Clinical data, survival outcome of sixty patients who were diagnosed with WAIHA were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were direct antiglobulin test (DAT) positive.

The effect of malnutrition on mortality in hospitalized patients with hematologic malignancy.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the association between malnutrition status with the (Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition) GLIM criteria and 1-year mortality in hospitalized patients with hematologic malignancy.

Methods: This study included 120 hospitalized patients with hematologic malignancy. Patients who were at risk of malnutrition with NRS2002 were reevaluated with the GLIM criteria for defined malnutrition.

The histone demethylase Ubiquitously Transcribed Tetratricopeptide Repeat Protein X-Linked (UTX/KDM6A) demethylates H3K27me2/3 at genes and enhancers and is often inactivated by mutations in urothelial carcinoma (UC). The consequences of its inactivation are however poorly understood. We have investigated the consequences of moderate UTX overexpression across a range of UC cell lines with or without mutations in or its interaction partners and in a normal control cell line.
