Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: EGFR Mutation Analysis Using Pyrosequencing and the Fully Automated qPCR-Based Idylla System.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status is of a major clinical significance in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) management, as it guides therapeutic decision making to target patients for a better response to therapy. This implicates the introduction of EGFR mutation analysis as the standard of care for Moroccan NSCLC patients, which in itself entails the implementation of targeted methods for routine EGFR mutation analysis in our laboratories. In this study, we aimed to present 2 targeted methods for EGFR mutation identification and to determine the prevalence and spectrum of EGFR mutations in NSCLC Moroccan patients.

Thyroid-like follicular carcinoma of the kidney is an extremely rare histological variant of renal cell carcinoma. It was described only recently and is not included in the World Health Organization classification of renal tumors. This tumor characteristically shows similar histology to thyroid follicular carcinoma but lacks typical thyroid markers.

["Growing teratoma syndrome": an unrecognized complication of treated germ cell tumors of the testis].

"Growing teratoma syndrome" is a rare and often unrecognized complication of nonseminomatous germ cell tumors of the testis. It is defined by enlarging residual masses, frequently retroperitonal, composed exclusively by teratoma, during the course of chemotherapy. Complications of this syndrome are due to masses compression.

Renal myelolipoma: a rare extra-adrenal tumor in a rare site: a case report and review of the literature.

Introduction: Myelolipomas are uncommon, benign tumors composed of mature adipose tissue and hematopoietic elements. They mostly occur in the adrenal glands, but extra-adrenal myelolipomas have also been reported in other locations such as the presacral region, retroperitoneum, pelvis and mediastinum. Here, we present a case of an extra-adrenal myelolipoma in a rare site: the renal parenchyma.

A gallbladder tumor revealing metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma: report of case and review of literature.

Unlabelled: Metastatic renal cell carcinoma in the gallbladder is extremely rare, with reported frequencies of less than 0.6% in large autopsy reviews. Only 40 cases were reported in the literature.
