Background: Fulminant myocarditis (FM) is a potentially lethal disease with a wide spectrum of clinical presentation, thus making the diagnosis hard to depict. Puerarin (PU), a bioactive constituent reported to possess therapeutic effectiveness, but it suffers a drawback of poor bioavailability. I propose a technique for identifying fundamental properties using structures already present in physical theories. I argue that, in conjunction with a particular naturalistic commitment, that I dub 'algebraic naturalism', these structures can be used to generate a standard of metaphysical determinacy. Campylobacter is the most common cause of diarrheal illness worldwide and is generally self-limiting. We present two cases of Campylobacter enterocolitis complicated by bowel ischemia in a 79-year-old male and a 53-year-old male, both presenting with abdominal pain and diarrhea and elevated lactate and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. Although methotrexate is commonly used for a variety of diseases, this medication can precipitate side effects in a subset of patients. This is an atypical case of chronic low-dose methotrexate use leading to colitis and pancytopenia.
