Building global collaborative research networks in paediatric critical care: a roadmap.

Paediatric critical care units are designed for children at a vulnerable stage of development, yet the evidence base for practice and policy in paediatric critical care remains scarce. In this Health Policy, we present a roadmap providing strategic guidance for international paediatric critical care trials. We convened a multidisciplinary group of 32 paediatric critical care experts from six continents representing paediatric critical care research networks and groups.

Delayed surgery during the Covid-19 pandemic did not affect long-term outcomes of pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Background: During the Covid-19 pandemic cancer surgery was severely affected due to relocation of healthcare resources and the resulting restructuring of cancer pathways. Although this potentially affected rapidly progressing malignancies like pancreatic cancer the most, little is known about long-term outcomes following pancreatectomy.

Materials And Methods: Survival data from two pancreatic surgery centres in the UK was analysed with patients being compared across pre-pandemic (C19-) and intra-pandemic (C19+) groups.

Identifying key factors for recurrence of genetic disorder: insights from Indian families with multiple affected children.

This study investigates the factors contributing to the recurrence of severe genetic conditions in multiple children of the same couple, focusing on a cohort of 26 families who had more than one child affected by the same genetic disorder. Conducted at a genetic clinic in India, the study employed a qualitative methodology guided by COREQ guidelines, using semi-structured interviews to explore the interplay of individual beliefs, healthcare provider practices, and systemic healthcare inefficiencies. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using a combination of content analysis and grounded theory, which allowed for the identification of recurrent themes and emerging ideas.

Sarcopenia is a muscle disease that occur across a lifetime. It is commonly described in the aging population but can occur earlier in life in patients with cancer. Previous studies demonstrated sarcopenia is highly prevalent in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs).

Tuning the electronic dimensionality and bandgap in CsAgBiX (X = Br, Cl) for photovoltaic applications: a DFT-1/2 study of cation disorder.

Nontoxic, stable, and experimentally realized lead-free halide double perovskites, CsAgBiX (X = Br, Cl), attracted much attention for solar cell applications. Here, we characterized the molecular architecture of the desmosomal outer dense plaque (ODP) using Bayesian integrative structural modeling via the Integrative Modeling Platform.

Alignment of Audiologists' Values With Best-Practice Standards: Insights From a National Survey.

Objectives: Previous research documented the values of audiology through a qualitative content analysis of documents representing traditional, best-practice hearing health care. The primary objective of this study was to validate the existing list of audiology values. Through a nationwide survey, this study aimed to elicit the values of practicing audiologists, with a specific focus on the prescription and dispensing of amplification devices, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their priorities.

The current study aimed to examine how HT influences patient perceptions of provider interactions and whether having an accompanying companion during health care visits modifies perceptions of provider interactions.

Mitogenomic recognition of incognito lineages in the mud spiny lobster Panulirus polyphagus (Herbst, 1793): A tale of unique genetic structuring and diversification.

This study provides the first documentation of three deep conspecific lineages within Panulirus polyphagus in the Indian Ocean, bridging the gap in genetic research. Comparative mitogenomics between lineages (L) at both species and family levels, evolutionary relationships and heterogeneity of sequence divergence within Decapoda, and divergence time estimation were performed. The characterized mitogenomes ranged from 15,685-15,705 bp in size and exhibited a typical pancrustacean pattern.

Early Outcomes of Prostatic Artery Embolization using n-Butyl Cyanoacrylate Liquid Embolic Agent: A Safety and Feasibility Study.
