Article Synopsis
  • Researchers studied how the muscles around the spine might be connected to a condition called idiopathic scoliosis, which causes curved spines.
  • They looked at 27 patients and used special techniques to measure spine angles and muscle activity in different positions.
  • The results showed that the way these muscles work can change based on a person's posture, suggesting that muscle imbalance might not be the main cause of scoliosis but could affect it during certain activities.

Parkinsonian tremor is one of the most common motor disorders in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Compared to oral medications and brain surgery, electrical stimulation approaches have emerged as effective and non-invasive methods for tremor reduction. The pathophysiology, detection and interventions of tremors have been introduced, however, a systematic review of peripherical electrical stimulation approaches, methodologies, experimental design and clinical outcomes for PD tremor suppression is still missing.
