Context: Sarcopenia has been identified as a potential predictor of poor prognosis in various types of cancer. However, the impact of pretreatment sarcopenia and the reduction of skeletal muscle mass during treatment on survival outcomes of patients with cervical cancer is still not well understood.
Objective: This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the impact of pretreatment sarcopenia and treatment-associated muscle loss on survival outcomes in patients with cervical cancer.
Background: As assessment tools of nutritional status, the controlling nutritional status (CONUT) and modified controlling nutritional status (mCONUT) score are associated with survival in various cancers. We aimed to investigate the association between the CONUT/mCONUT score's prognostic value and survival time in patients with FIGO stage IIB-IIIB cervical cancer treated with radiotherapy.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 165 patients between September 2013 and September 2015 were analyzed, and the optimal CONUT/mCONUT score cut-off values were determined using receiver operating characteristic curves.
Background And Objectives: The objective of our study was to explore the accuracy of previously published prediction equations in predicting resting energy expenditure (REE) in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC). We also aimed to develop a novel equation to estimate REE for Chinese patients with LC.
Methods And Study Design: In 90 patients with LC, the agreement between REE measured by Indirect calorimetry (IC) and predictive equations was quantified using paired T-test and visualized using a Bland-Altman Plot.
