Article Synopsis
  • Microplastics (MPs) have become a notable concern as their usage has surged, and they can enter the human body, including the circulatory system and endometrium, which is crucial for female health and fertility.
  • A study analyzed endometrium samples using laser direct infrared techniques, discovering 13 types of MPs, predominantly in small sizes (20-100 μm), with a significant correlation found between certain lifestyle habits, such as drinking and chewing gum, and higher MP exposure.
  • This research is the first to identify MPs in the human endometrium, highlighting a potential link between lifestyle choices and MP exposure, although further studies are needed for deeper understanding.
