Peanut protein isolate (PPI) has high nutritional value, but its poor function limits its application in the food industry. In this study, peanut protein isolate was modified by enzymatic hydrolysis combined with glycation. The structure, emulsification and interface properties of peanut protein isolate hydrolysate (HPPI) and dextran (Dex) conjugate (HPPI-Dex) were studied.

Unlabelled: Phytopathogens secrete numerous molecules into the environment to establish a microbial niche and facilitate host infection. The phytopathogenic fungus which causes pear anthracnose, can colonize different plant tissues like leaves and fruits, which are occupied by a diversity of microbes. We speculate that this fungus produces antimicrobial effectors to outcompete host-associated competitive microorganisms.

is emerging as a devastating pathogenic fungus causing anthracnose in a wide range of horticultural crops, particularly fruits. Exploitation of nonhost resistance (NHR) represents a robust strategy for plant disease management. Perception of core effectors from phytopathogens frequently leads to hypersensitive cell death and resistance in nonhost plants; however, such core effectors in and their signaling components in non-hosts remain elusive.

Bioactive substances exhibit various physiological activities-such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer activities-and have great potential for application in food, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals. However, the low solubility, chemical instability, and low bioavailability of bioactive substances limit their application in the food industry. Using nanotechnology to prepare protein nanoparticles to encapsulate and deliver active substances is a promising approach due to the abundance, biocompatibility, and biodegradability of proteins.

Alantolactone (ALA) is a sesquiterpene lactone with potent anti-inflammatory activity. However, the effect of ALA on intestinal inflammation remains largely unknown. The present study demonstrated that ALA significantly ameliorated the clinical symptoms of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced mice colitis as determined by body weight loss, diarrhea, colon shortening, inflammatory infiltration and histological injury.

In this study, solid lipid nanoparticles were formulated for transdermal delivery of aconitine to improve its safety and permeability. Aconitine-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles were formulated as an oil-in-water microemulsion. Drug encapsulation efficiencies for these formulations were higher than 85%, and correlated positively with levels of surfactant and oil matrix.
