Background: The exact mechanisms of PD are unclear, but Parkin-mediated mitophagy dysfunction is believed to play a key role. We investigated whether blood levels of Parkin and other biomarkers are linked to the risk of developing PD.
Methods: Baseline blood measures of Parkin and other biomarkers, including Homocysteine, carcinoembryonic antigen, Urea, total proteins, total cholesterol, creatine kinase, and albumin, were collected from 197 clinically diagnosed Parkinson's disease participants and 107 age-matched healthy controls in Wenzhou Parkinson's Biomarkers and Living Characteristics study.
Chondrocyte columns, which are a hallmark of growth plate architecture, play a central role in bone elongation. Columns are formed by clonal expansion following rotation of the division plane, resulting in a stack of cells oriented parallel to the growth direction. In this work, we analyzed hundreds of Confetti multicolor clones in growth plates of mouse embryos using a pipeline comprising 3D imaging and algorithms for morphometric analysis.

In this study, we hypothesize that PD-associated genetic risk affects lipid metabolism, which in turn contributes to different types of sleep disorders.
Methods: We used a non-targeted lipidomics to explore the lipid composition of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) exosomes derived from patients with PD carrying phospholipase A2 Group VI (PLA2G6) and sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 1 (SMPD1) mutations.
Parkinson disease is a neurodegenerative disorder distinguished by dopaminergic shortage in the striatum and the accumulation of α-synuclein neuronal aggregates in the brains of patients. Since, there is no accurate treatment available for Parkinson disease, researches are designed to alleviate the pathognomonic symptoms such as neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and apoptosis. Accordingly, a number of compounds have been reported to inhibit these pathognomonic symptoms.

Methods: A total of 103 patients were placed in the suppurative meningitis group (SMG), 124 patients in the viral meningitis group (VMG). Another 86 patients without any infectious diseases of the central nervous system constituted the control group (CG).
Oral cancer is among the top 10 causes of death due to cancer worldwide. The prognosis for oral cancer patients is not good, with a 5-year survival rate of only 50%. Earlier and more precise classification will help clinicians make a diagnosis and patients survive.
