Background: Exploring evolution regularities of genome sequences and constructing more objective species evolution relationships at the genomic level are high-profile topics. Based on the evolution mechanism of genome sequences proposed in our previous research, we found that only the 8-mers containing CG or TA dinucleotides correlate directly with the evolution of genome sequences, and the relative frequency rather than the actual frequency of these 8-mers is more suitable to characterize the evolution of genome sequences.

Result: Therefore, two types of feature sets were obtained, they are the relative frequency sets of CG1 + CG2 8-mers and TA1 + TA2 8-mers.

In tight naturally fractured bedrock reservoirs, hydrocarbons are typically stored in fractures, where hydraulic fracturing is needed to connect these fractures to the wellbore. The cross-linked gel is used as the fracturing fluid to reduce the fluid leak-off through natural fractures; however, it can cause formation damage due to its high content of residues after breaking. A synthetic polymer is introduced and evaluated that can maintain a high viscosity to minimize the leak-off , while having a low residue content after breaking.

Multistage hydraulic fracturing is used in horizontal wells to increase the production of tight oil. Fracturing fluids are used in hydraulic fracturing to ensure proppants are suspended, but fluid residuals can cause formation damage and reduce rock permeability; meanwhile, fracture conductivity can be further reduced due to the flowback of proppants during the early stage of production. In this study, steel plates and hydraulically fractured reservoir rocks are tested in a modified API cell to understand the impacts of flowback rate, fracturing fluid, and closure stress on proppant flowback and fracture conductivity.

The traditional guar gum fracturing fluid system has the drawbacks of the fracturing process of unconventional oil and gas deposits, such as high drag resistance and large residuum harm, which is gradually replaced by the system of the slick water fracturing fluid. The conventional slick water system, however, still has the features of low sand-carrying capability. Therefore, high-viscosity slick water is often used in fracturing operations, but most of the high-viscosity slick water is difficult to prepare, dissolve, and break gels, which needs to be improved.

The present study has demonstrated that P-5m octapeptide (P-5m) has therapeutic potential in metastatic human hepatocarcinoma, possibly through the modulation of matrix metalloproteinase-2 expression. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the antitumor effect of P-5m combined with 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) on the treatment of hepatoma 22 (H22) hepatocarcinoma malignant ascites in a mouse model. The inhibitory effect on the growth of mouse ascites tumors was monitored by measuring body weight gain, survival time, ascites volume, numbers of tumor cells, DNA synthesis and peritoneal capillary permeability analysis.
