Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the hepatic protective effects of Cichorium intybus L. (chicory) in mouse models of acute liver injury using various biochemical and pathological techniques.
  • The identification of active compounds was conducted through advanced methods like UPLC-TOF-MS and molecular modeling to elucidate their mechanisms of action.
  • Key findings indicate that specific compounds in chicory target proteins like Akt-1 and caspase-1, which may aid in reducing liver injury by influencing apoptosis and autophagy processes.
