Protein glycosylation, which involves the addition of carbohydrate chains to amino acid side chains, imparts essential properties to proteins, offering immense potential in synthetic biology applications. Despite its importance, natural glycosylation pathways present several limitations, highlighting the need for new tools to better understand glycan structures, recognition, metabolism, and biosynthesis, and to facilitate the production of biologically relevant glycoproteins. The field of bacterial glycoengineering has gained significant attention due to the ongoing discovery and study of bacterial glycosylation systems.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs), abundant in exosomes, are involved in regulating cancer development. However, the regulatory function and the underlying molecular mechanism of hsa_circ_0006906 (circSCP2) in colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis remain unclear.

This review explores the evolving trend from traditional supplements, such as protein, carbohydrates, creatine, and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), toward functional foods rich in bioactive compounds. Evidence highlights the benefits of functional foods like tart cherry juice (anthocyanins), turmeric-seasoned foods, and sources of omega-3 fatty acids, including fish, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts, for mitigating oxidative stress and inflammation.

Laurie tea processor black tea (LTP-BT) is one of the most important categories of BBT. In this study, the fresh leaves of three tea plant cultivars including Golden Peony tea, Yunnandaye, and Fuding Dabai were blended to process LTP-BT using the simplex centroid design.

The combination of anti-BRAF/anti-EGFR (encorafenib/cetuximab) treatment for patients with BRAFV600E-mutant mCRC improves clinical benefits; unfortunately, inevitable acquired resistance limits the treatment outcome, and the mechanism has not been validated. Here, we discovered that monoacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 3-mediated (MOGAT3-mediated) diacylglycerol (DAG) accumulation contributed to acquired resistance to encorafenib/cetuximab by dissecting a BRAFV600E-mutant mCRC patient-derived xenograft (PDX) model exposed to encorafenib/cetuximab administration.

In this work, first, hydrophilic ionic liquid gel microspheres with [BMIM]BF and PHEMA as the dispersion medium and gel network, respectively, were successfully prepared by using mesoporous silica microspheres as a supporting skeleton capable of stabilizing the gel through an anchoring effect, and then the catalyst [BMIM]PW and oxidant HO were incorporated into the gel microspheres to construct a liquid compartment microreactor for deep desulfurization. The prepared microreactor (SiO@[BMIM]PW/ILG-microspheres) has excellent extraction-catalytic capacity and exhibited ∼100% desulfurization ratio for a model oil of -heptane with 500 ppm of DBT at 60 °C for 3 h without solvents.

Current measurement procedures (MP) for these tumor markers are considered to be insufficiently harmonized. This study investigated the achievable harmonization for CA 15-3 and CEA by using an simulation of external quality assessment (EQA) data from multiple EQA programs using patient-pool based samples.

Methods: The International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) Task Force on Global Laboratory Quality (TF-GLQ) conducted a 2-year study (2022 and 2023) in which EQA materials, related software and online training was provided by a commercial vendor to 100 laboratories in ten IFCC member society countries. The results were analysed on a monthly basis by the TF-GLQ, to show the number of submissions per country, tests per lab, acceptability rates, random failures and to get a measure of which analytes performed poorly.
Graphitic carbon nitride (-CN)-based photocatalysts have garnered significant interest as a promising photocatalyst for hydrogen generation under visible light, to address energy and environmental challenges owing to their favorable electronic structure, affordability, and stability. In spite of that, issues such as high charge carrier recombination rates and low quantum efficiency impede its broader application. To overcome these limitations, structural and morphological modification of the -CN-based photocatalysts is a novel frontline to improve the photocatalytic performance.
