Bringing sulfonic acid groups into conventional polyethersulfone (PES) materials to prepare PES/sulfonated polyethersulfone (SPES) composite membranes has been shown to markedly enhance the hydrophilicity of the membranes and boost their separation efficiency in water treatment applications. However, membrane fouling due to microbial activity remains a critical challenge in the practical use of these membranes. Despite this, research into the antibacterial capabilities of PES/SPES composite membranes is scarce.

This method facilitates the synthesis of a diverse range of vinyl phosphorothioates with a wide substrate scope and functional group tolerance. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that the reaction involves a phosphorothioate radical-triggered process.

The results indicated that LA increased the peak viscosity, trough viscosity, final viscosity, storage modulus, and loss modulus of CS, while decreasing the breakdown viscosity. Conversely, FA exerted opposite effects.

Disruptions such as inflammation or tissue damage can precipitate the development of chronic diseases such as tumors or diabetes mellitus (DM). While both lung cancer and DM are the consequences of disruptions in homeostasis, the relationship between them is intricate.

Among the nineteen newly synthesized analogs, compound 4d9 demonstrated the highest α-glucosidase inhibitory potency (IC = 2.11 μM) when compared to the established inhibitors Acarbose (IC = 327.

However, achieving high selectivity for alcohol production at industrial current densities is kinetically hampered by side reactions such as ethylene generation and hydrogen evolution reaction, which result from competing adsorption of *CO and *H. In this study, we developed a Cu/Zn alloy catalyst to simultaneously enhance the activity and selectivity for alcohol production by increasing CO capture capacity and enriching active hydrogen on Cu sites.

However, WBG PSCs exhibit severe open-circuit voltage (V) loss with increasing bromine content. Herein, inhomogeneous halogen-phase distribution is pointed out to be the reason, which hinders efficient extraction of carriers.

Current treatments commonly used include systemic antibiotics and autografts or allografts. Nevertheless, therapies come with various disadvantages, including multidrug-resistant bacteria, complications arising from the donor site, and immune rejection, which makes artificial implants desirable.

Nevertheless, the therapeutic efficacy of GO nanoparticles is commonly hindered by their inherent drawback of low photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE).
Methods: Herein, we engineer the Ag/GO-GelMA platform by growing the Ag on the surface of GO and encapsulating the Ag/GO nanoparticles into the GelMA hydrogels.
Metal halide perovskites hold great potential for next-generation light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). Despite significant progress, achieving high-performance PeLEDs hinges on optimizing the interface between the perovskite crystal film and the charge transport layers, especially the buried interface, which serves as the starting point for perovskite growth. Here, we develop a bottom-up perovskite film modulation strategy using formamidine acetate (FAAc) to enhance the buried interface.

Here, we report an atomically ordered intermetallic pallium-zinc (PdZn) electrocatalyst comprising a high density of PdZn pairs for boosting urea electrosynthesis. It is found that Pd and Zn are responsible for the adsorption and activation of NO and CO, respectively, and thus the co-adsorption and co-activation NO and CO are achieved in ordered PdZn pairs.

Objectives: Acute pancreatitis(AP) is a common digestive tract disease, often accompanied by severe metabolic disorders, but there are no specific markers and treatment methods, and the potential metabolic pathways behind it remain to be explored.
Methods: Establish mild acute pancreatitis and severe acute pancreatitis models in rats and intervene with antioxidant NAC. Analyze serum oxidative stress indicators and pathological changes in pancreatic tissue.
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is linked to various malignancies and autoimmune diseases, posing a significant global health challenge due to the lack of specific treatments or vaccines. Despite its crucial role in EBV infection in B cells, the mechanisms of the glycoprotein gp42 remain elusive. In this study, we construct an antibody phage library from 100 EBV-positive individuals, leading to the identification of two human monoclonal antibodies, 2B7 and 2C1.

However, the upscaling of the electrosynthesis of oxygenates encounters kinetic bottlenecks arising from the competing hydrogen evolution reaction with the selective production of ethylene. Herein, a catalytic relay system that can perform in tandem CO capture, activation, intermediate transfer and enrichment on a Cu-Ag composite catalyst is used for attaining high yield CO-to-oxygenates electrosynthesis at high current densities.

It has been shown that high glucose (HG) could induce ferroptosis in vascular endothelial cells (VECs), consequently contributing to the development of various diseases. This study synthesized and evaluated a series of novel ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1) derivatives fused with a benzohydrazide moiety to prevent HG-induced VEC ferroptosis.
