Objective: To examine the process of how parental conflict and family functioning influence adolescents' socially adverse emotions (shyness and loneliness).
Methods: Stratified cluster sampling was used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 1,100 junior high school students from three junior high schools in Beijing, Chongqing, and Shijiazhuang, China.
Results: (1) The overall experience of adolescents' socially adverse emotions was at the moderate level; boys' experience of shyness and loneliness was significantly higher than that of girls; the experience of shyness and loneliness in the second grade was significantly higher than that in the first grade; (2) Parental conflict was significantly negatively correlated with family functioning and significantly positively correlated with adolescents' socially adverse emotions, while family functioning was significantly negatively correlated with adolescents' socially adverse emotions; (3) Family functioning partially mediates the relationship between parental conflict and adolescents' shyness and completely mediates the relationship between parental conflict and adolescents' loneliness.
Electroacupuncture (EA) has been shown to ameliorate brain injury and protect against intestinal injury after ischemic stroke. These protective effects are closely associated with the enhancement of regulatory T (Treg) cell numbers and function in the intestine, as well as the inhibition of intestinal γδ T cell production and their migration to the brain. Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: the sham group, the MCAO group, the MCAO + EA (MEA) group, and the MCAO + EA + HAT inhibitor (HATi) group. The MCAO model was generated by blocking the middle cerebral artery.

Methods: 97 participants underwent 9 rounds of DWI scans before IC (pre-IC), pre-radiation (pre-RT), the midpoint of radiation (mid-RT), the end of radiation (post-RT), 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 (12m-RT) months following radiation. Apparent diffusion coefficient of SMGs (ADC), PGs (ADC), and SLGs (ADC), xerostomia questionnaire scores (XQ), and saliva flow rate measures under unstimulated (uSFR) and stimulated condition (sSFR) were documented.
Exposure to persistent organic pollutants may be associated to type 2 diabetes, but the studies on associations between short-chain chlorinated paraffin (SCCP) exposure and type 2 diabetes risk in humans are still scarce. Here, we conducted a case-control study involving 344 participants in Shandong Province, East China, to explore the effects of SCCPs on type 2 diabetes risk and their correlations with glycemic biomarker and serum lipid parameters. SCCPs were detected in all serum samples with a median concentration of 24 ng mL in cases and 19 ng mL in controls.

After middle leaf uptake, most MH was trapped and dissipated in the middle leaf, and the rest was transported to other parts mainly through the phloem. Soil absorption significantly reduced the uptake efficiency of the root system, in which MH was partitioned to dissipate in root protoplasts or transfer through the xylem and persisted in the plant.

Materials And Methods: We constructed and internally verified a prediction model using a primary cohort comprising 223 patients who were pathologically diagnosed with NPC from February 2016 to December 2019. LASSO regression model was used to identify the clinical factors and relevant variables (the pre-radiotherapy (XQ-preRT) and immediate post-radiotherapy (XQ-postRT) xerostomia questionnaire scores, as well as the mean dose (D) delivered to the parotid gland (PG), submandibular gland (SMG), sublingual gland (SLG), tubarial gland (TG), and oral cavity).
