Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a common anxiety disorder characterized by excessive, uncontrollable worry and physical symptoms such as difficulty concentrating and sleep disturbances. Although functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies have reported aberrant network-level activity related to cognition and emotion in GAD, its low temporal resolution restricts its ability to capture the rapid neural activity in mental processes. EEG microstate analysis offers millisecond-resolution for tracking the dynamic changes in brain electrical activity, thereby illuminating the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying the cognitive and emotional dysfunctions in GAD.

Depression is a leading mental health disorder worldwide, contributing substantially to the global disease burden. While emerging evidence suggests links between specific air pollutants and depression, the potential interactions among multiple pollutants remain underexplored. Here we show the influence of six common air pollutants on depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older Chinese adults.

Breast milk contains a diverse array of symbiotic microorganisms, including beneficial probiotics. While most research has focused on the bacterial composition of breast milk, the fungal community (mycobiota) has received limited attention. In this study, we isolated and evaluated yeast strains from breast milk, demonstrating the safety and probiotic potential of four strains through hemolysis tests, antimicrobial activity, tolerance to gastrointestinal conditions, aggregation, cell adhesion, and antioxidant activity assays.

Methods: A method comprising region-of-interest (ROI) detection and cascade prediction was formulated for diagnosing cervical spinal stenosis based on a DL model. First, three part-specific convolutional neural networks were employed to detect the ROIs in different parts of the cervical MR images.
The goal of this study was to compare the advantages of conventional laparoscopic surgery (CLS) and the split-leg supine position single-port plus one laparoscopic surgery (SSP SILS + 1) in esophageal surgery. This study enrolled 73 patients who previously underwent radical esophagectomy for esophageal cancer from August 2021 to February 2023. Among them, 36 patients underwent SSP SILS + 1, whereas the remaining 37 patients underwentCLS.

We used publicly available datasets to analyze differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the synovial tissue of RA patients and healthy individuals. Then, we intersected these DEGs with autophagy-related genes to identify autophagy genes in the synovial tissue of RA patients.

LINC00173, a novel long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), has emerged as an important factor in the development of PCOS. However, the role of LINC00173 in PCOS development and its specific upstream and downstream mechanisms remain to be further clarified.

Vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent infection; however, due to the persistence of antigenic drift, vaccines must be updated annually. The selection of vaccine strains occurs months in advance of the influenza season to allow adequate time for production in eggs.

A textile bandwidth-enhanced half-mode substrate-integrated cavity (HMSIC) antenna based on embroidered shorting vias is designed. Based on the simulated results of the basic HMSIC antenna, two embroidered hollow posts with square cross-sections are added as shorting vias at the intersections of the zero-E traces of the TM210HM and TM020HM modes to shift the TM010HM-mode band to merge with the bands of the higher-order modes for bandwidth enhancement. A prototype is practically fabricated based on computerized embroidery techniques.

This study aimed to identify different symptom trajectories based on the severity of depression symptoms within a 2-month follow-up, and to explore predictive factors for different symptom trajectories. Three hundred and ninety-two adults diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD) were recruited from two longitudinal cohorts. Patients received antidepressant treatment as usual, and the depression symptoms were evaluated by the 17-item Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD-17) at baseline, two weeks, and eight weeks.

The performance of electricity generation and composting efficacy was investigated, along with a comprehensive assessment of the potential health risks associated with the land use of the resulting mixed compost products. Experimental outcomes revealed a maximum open-circuit voltage of 0.

However, the underlying toxicity mechanism of TWPs, especially aged TWPs to marine microalgae remains poorly understood. This study investigated the physiological and metabolic responses of Phaeodactylum tricornutum to different concentrations of TWPs (Experiment 1), virgin and differently aged TWPs (Experiment 2) as well as their leachates and leached particles (Experiment 3).

In this study, a triazine-carbazole-based covalent organic framework (COF-TCZ) was designed as highly porous material with conjugated donor-acceptor networks, and feasibly synthesized by the Schiff condensation of 4,4',4''-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tr ianiline (TAPB) and 9-(4-formylphenyl)-9H-carbazole-3,6-dicarbaldehyde (CZTA) under the solvothermal condition. Considering the effect of linkage, the imine-linked COF-TCZ was further oxidized to obtain an amide-linked covalent organic framework (COF-TCZ-O).
