Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the effectiveness of cartilage interposition ossiculoplasty in improving hearing for patients with incus necrosis following malleus repositioning.
  • It involved a retrospective analysis of 30 patients with significant hearing loss due to ossicular disruption, monitoring their hearing through audiometry at various intervals post-surgery.
  • Results showed a notable improvement in hearing, with 83.33% of patients achieving a post-operative air-bone gap of 20 dB or less after three months, indicating that this technique is a strong option for ossicular reconstruction.
