Separation of gases from air mixture is one of the most challenging and laborious separations due to the remarkably uniform molecular size of gas molecules. Therefore, the present study aimed to synthesize polyacrylonitrile-based nanofibers mat(NM) impregnated with -diethanolaminomethylcalix[4]arene (PAN/-DEAC4 NM) for the separation of two crucial gases O and N. The affinity of the prepared PAN/-DEAC4 NM for O was examined by optimizing the loading concentration of -DEAC4 in the range from 5% to 20% (w/v).

Therefore, it is challenging for scientists and environmental engineers to treat wastewater with cost-effective treatment techniques. As compared to conventional processes (physical, chemical, and biological), advanced oxidation processes (AOP) play an essential role in the removal of wastewater contaminants, with the help of a powerful hydroxyl (OH•) through oxidation reactions.

Despite its clinical significance, the relative effectiveness and safety of catheter ablation versus conventional management in ARVC are not fully delineated. Objective This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of catheter ablation compared to conventional management in reducing ventricular arrhythmias and improving patient outcomes over five years in ARVC patients.

There has been a growing interest in wearable devices to monitor postoperative patients, providing the healthcare professionals with real-time information on vital signs to detect potential complications and hence, take timely actions to prevent them. Several studies and pilot programme in Ireland and worldwide indicated the effectiveness of wearable devices in monitoring patients, which could result in better patient outcomes and more efficient healthcare system. As more healthcare providers adopt this new technology, better patient outcomes and a more efficient healthcare system can be anticipated.

Work is in progress to advance the research worldwide and in our region. This study is conducted to look into regional ethical predilection/age, clinical presentation/stage, pathological subtypes and risk factors of BC among patients of Karachi, with the aim of proposing a ground in our policy making regarding protocol setting for screening and management of BC patients.

The bimetallic micro-composite adsorbent was synthesized by using the chemical reduction method. Micro-particles were characterized by using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy for elemental analysis after adsorption, which confirms the adsorption of selenium on the surface of the micro-composite adsorbent, scanning electron microscopy, which shows particles are circular in shape and irregular in size, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller which results from the total surface area of particles were 59.

However, the mechanisms underlying these phenomena are rarely considered in hydrological models. Therefore, in this study, fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) and total suspended solids (TSS) in a temperate catchment were simulated using a well-established water quality model (Personal Computer Storm Water Management Model) to systematically quantify the factors influencing their dynamics and the effects of stormwater management.

Even though Pakistan is located on the "solar belt" and receives over 2 MWh/m solar irradiation per year with 1500-3000 h of sunshine, unfortunately solar energy is not harnessed to fulfill the energy needs of the country. Solar flat plate collectors (SFPC) are widely employed for collecting solar radiations from the sun.

In this bibliometric review, Scopus database was accessed to retrieve publications from 1971 to 2021, related to carbon footprint of buildings which is significantly associated with global warming and air quality. The results suggested that 41% of publications were published in close access journals requiring nominal subscription fee and/or institutional permissions for access to articles.

Background: Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) campaign was conducted in February 2019 in Karachi where needle-free injectors were introduced for the administration of the fractional dose of IPV (fIPV) on a large scale. This study aimed to determine the impact of needle-free injectors on vaccination coverage.
Methods: In four towns of Karachi, fIPV was given using needle-free injectors "PharmaJet Tropis ID".
This study examines the performance level of hybrid woven protective clothing (HWPC), manufactured from Kevlar® (K) and Ramie (R) yarns. The weave structures (plain, twill 1/3) and variables fiber ratios were used to produce HWPC. The performance level of HWPC was measured according to EN 388:2016.

AFOMP has contributed positively in various regulatory and policy matters regarding the medical physics practices in Asian countries.

However, less is known about the comparison of receptor modeling techniques using spatial runoff quality data to identify and quantify the stormwater runoff pollution. This study compared the performance of principal component analysis-multiple linear regressions (PCA-MLR) and positive matrix factorization (PMF) models on stormwater runoff data collected from a small catchment (Site 1) with urban development activity and a sub-watershed outlet (Site 2).

Background: Midline laparotomy is the most common technique of abdominal incisions because it is simple, provides adequate exposure to all four quadrants, and is rapid to open. A major problem after midline laparotomy remains the adequate technique of abdominal fascia closure. This study was conducted to see the role of Polydioxanone and Prolene for midline abdominal closure in terms of postoperative wound infection and wound pain.

Background: Hernioplasty for Inguinal hernia is one of the commonest operations performed in general surgical wards. More recently, interest has waxed and waned regarding the minimally invasive approach to hernioplasty. This study was carried out to assess the management outcome of minimally invasive hernioplasty (Totally extra-peritoneal approach) as the treatment of choice for uncomplicated (incomplete and reducible) inguinal hernia.
