The RREB1::MRTFB (former RREB1::MKL2) fusion characterizes ectomesenchymal chondromyxoid tumors (EMCMT) of the tongue. Only five molecularly confirmed extra-glossal EMCMT cases have been reported recently; all occurring at head and neck or mediastinal sites. We herein describe five new cases including the first two extracranial/extrathoracic cases.

Inactive persons may have insufficient micronutrient intake because of low energy intake (EI). We extracted data from NHANES 2003-2006 on 4015 adults (53 ± 18 years (mean ± SD), 29 ± 6 kg/m², 48% women) with valid physical activity (accelerometry) and food intake (2 × 24 h-dietary recall) measures.

Objective: The Federal Employment Agency and the Statutory Health Insurance (GKV) have put the link between the promotion of employment and of health to the test by making a joint approach aiming to reach unemployed persons with preventive health services and to maintain or improve their employability.
Methods: Specialist case workers (Integrationsfachkräfte) of the job centres conducted health consultations, motivating unemployed persons and raising their awareness of their own health as well as enabling them to access health promotion services of health insurance funds on a voluntary basis. Three different approaches were tested: consultations either being offered by specialist case workers of the job centres, by contracted educational institutions or by the federal employment agency's own special services (Fachdienste).
Point focusing measurements using pairs of directly bonded crossed multilayer Laue lenses (MLLs) are reported. Several flat and wedged MLLs have been fabricated out of a single deposition and assembled to realise point focusing devices. The wedged lenses have been manufactured by adding a stress layer onto flat lenses.

However, the coupling between alterations of total energy expenditure (TEE), energy intake, and body composition during different seasonal training phases is unclear. So far, no systematic review has assessed fluctuations in TEE, energy intake, and/or body composition in endurance athletes across the training season.

Sensor platforms based on solution-processable electrolyte-gated carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNT-FETs) are a simple and cost-effective alternative for conventional assays. In this work we demonstrate a selective as well as direct detection of the products of an enzyme-substrate interaction, here the for metabolic processes important urea-urease system, with sensors based on spray-coated CNT-FETs.

Method: A cross-sectional survey utilizing anonymous questionnaires that assessed demographics, knowledge, attitudes and choices of female and male health care professionals between the ages of 20-55 (N = 185) who work at an academic medical center
Result(s): Of the 185 respondents, 75% were female, 35% were residents and 35% were married. Among those who were delaying childbearing 39% wanted to complete their education, 25% had no identified partner, 10% were too active professionally and 4% could not afford children at the time.
In this work we fabricate and characterize field-effect transistors based on the solution-processable semiconducting polymer poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT). Applying two independent gate potentials to the electrolyte-gated organic field-effect transistor (EGOFET), by using a conventional SiO(2) layer as the back-gate dielectric and the electrolyte-gate as the top-gate, allows the measurement of the electrical double layer (EDL) capacitance at the semiconductor-electrolyte interface. We record the transfer curves of the transistor in salt solutions of different concentration by sweeping the bottom gate potential for various constant electrolyte-gate potentials.

We report on the reversible detection of CaptAvidin, a tyrosine modified avidin, with single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) field-effect transistors (FETs) noncovalently functionalized with biotin moieties using 1-pyrenebutyric acid as a linker. Binding affinities at different pH values were quantified, and the sensor's response at various ionic strengths was analyzed. Furthermore, protein "fingerprints" of NeutrAvidin and streptavidin were obtained by monitoring their adsorption at several pH values.

The ion-selective response is achieved by modifying the gate-electrode of an electrolyte-gated CNT-FET with ion-selective membranes, which are selective towards the respective target analyte ions. The selectivity, assured by the ion-selective poly(vinyl chloride) based membrane, allows the successful application of the herein proposed K(+)-selective CNT-FET to detect changes in the K(+) activity in the μM range even in solutions containing different ionic backgrounds.

Food intake increases to a varying extent during pregnancy to provide extra energy for the growing fetus. Measuring the respiratory quotient (RQ) during the course of pregnancy (by quantifying O2 consumption and CO2 production with indirect calorimetry) could be potentially useful since it gives an insight into the evolution of the proportion of carbohydrate vs. fat oxidized during pregnancy and thus allows recommendations on macronutrients for achieving a balanced (or slightly positive) substrate intake.

Spray-deposited CNT networks were used as the sensitive active layer which offers the opportunity for integration on flexible sensing platforms at low-cost. We characterized the transistors' behavior in electrolytes by analyzing the response to different KCl solutions and buffers over a wide pH range.

Background: Nowadays, there is a tremendous need for cheap disposable sensing devices for medical applications. Materials such as Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) and regioregular P3HT are proven to offer a huge potential as cost-effective and solution processable semiconductors for (bio)sensing applications.
Methods: CNT-based field-effect transistors (CNT-FETs) as well as regioregular P3HT-based ones (P3HT-FETs) are fabricated and operated in the so-called electrolyte-gated configuration.
Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancies may be difficult to diagnose and may result in uterine rupture or hysterectomy. Based on location and vascularity, especially in the presence of fetal cardiac activity, local treatment with transvaginal ultrasound-guided injection of methotrexate is an excellent option which also optimizes the chance for fertility preservation.

Objectives: Labour and delivery represent a considerable effort for pregnant women. Lack of aerobic fitness may limit pushing efforts during childbirth and represents increased cardiovascular strain and risk. Increasing prevalence of sedentary behaviour and lack of aerobic fitness may reduce heart rate reserve during labour.
