Purpose: The purpose of this review was to systematically examine research on the use of the flipped classroom approach in health professions education.

This study examined personal, cognitive, affective, and behavioral variables related to body mass index (BMI) among 73 6th and 7th grade girls, and differences between categories of healthy weight, overweight, and obese in the variables. BMI was correlated with barriers to physical activity, enjoyment of physical activity, light physical activity, moderate to vigorous physical activity, vigorous physical activity, and sedentary time. As compared to obese girls, those who were non-obese perceived greater enjoyment of physical activity, engaged in more light and vigorous physical activity, and had fewer minutes/hour of sedentary time.

The purpose of these secondary analyses was to examine relationships between patient factors and patient-provider decision-making style (PDM) on heart-healthy behavior changes in 142 adults with diabetes after hospitalization for an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). A clinical trial randomized adults to either control or a telephone coaching intervention. Generalized estimating equations were used to analyze the relationship between patient factors and PDM style on longitudinal postdischarge changes in three heart-healthy behaviors, avoiding high fat foods, weight loss, and increased physical activity.
