Introduction And Objectives: International guidelines for the diagnosis of Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (HP) have improved the diagnostic standardization of this heterogeneous interstitial lung disease. Our goal was to determine how the final multidisciplinary discussion confidence level for suspected fibrotic HP (fHP) can be impacted by the application of different guidelines validated in this context.
Materials And Methods: Retrospective study including patients submitted to transbronchial lung cryobiopsy (TBLC) with a final multidisciplinary meeting diagnosis of fHP.
Introduction: Progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) corresponds to any fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD) other than idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) that presents clinical, physiological and/or radiological evidence of disease progression similar to IPF. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and are associated with disease progression and reduced survival in IPF and other fibrotic ILDs. This study aimed to investigate the role of serum levels of MMP-1 and MMP-7 in patients with fibrotic non-IPF ILD as possible biomarkers of patients at risk of developing PPF.

While these tags are crucial for inhibiting the activity of the target peptide during heterologous expression, incorporating a cleavage site is essential for their later removal, ensuring the pure sequencing of the peptide. This review evaluates different cleavage methods, including protease-mediated, self-cleavable protein, and chemical-mediated sites, regarding their advantages and limitations.

Additionally, widespread insecticide resistance has reduced the efficacy of current control methods, necessitating new solutions. Nootkatone, a natural compound found in grapefruit, shows promise as both a mosquito repellent and an insecticide.

It is estimated that around 1.27 million people died worldwide in 2019 due to infectious diseases caused by antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, according to the WHO.

The growth of soybean cultivars in Cerrado soil subjected to the application of silicon doses was studied. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Instituto Federal do Amapá - IFAP/Campus Agrícola Porto Grande.

The aim of this study was to cytogenetically investigate accessions of Stylosanthes identified as S. scabra, in order to properly identify the number, morphology, and pattern of distribution of heterochromatin, analyzing the karyological variability of these species.

Nellore × Angus bulls (n = 144; initial BW = 401 ± 45.5 kg) were distributed at random in 36 pens (4 bulls/pen and 18 pens/treatment), following a completely randomized design.

Moreover, this unhealthy regime produces unfavourable changes on the faecal microbiota, potentially interfering with microorganisms postbiotic function, such as spermidine, a natural polyamine that has been involved in the control of weight gain. The study aimed to analyse the repercussions of spermidine supplementation on somatic measurements, metabolic markers, and the faecal microbiota profile of rats fed a diet rich in fat and fructose.

Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at a high risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes, especially those under immunosuppression or with associated comorbidities. However, few studies have assessed the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine in patients with RA.

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and metabolic syndrome (MS) are recognized as public health problems which are related to overweight and cardiometabolic factors. The aim of this study was to develop a model to predict MS in people with CKD.
Methods: This was a prospective cross-sectional study of patients from a reference center in São Luís, MA, Brazil.
Introduction: The scenario of adult patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia treated in Brazil has not been well described yet.
Methods: Four hundred patients diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia from 1981 to 2019, registered in the Brazilian lymphoma and leukemia association (ABRALE) or their caregivers were interviewed by telephone to evaluate patient-reported perceptions of diagnosis, treatment and adverse effects.
Results: Overall, 203 were male with a mean age of 15.
The use of pheromones, while common, remains underexplored in mosquito research. Understanding Aedes aegypti's mating behaviour and pheromones is crucial for expanding knowledge and advancing vector control strategies. Unlike other species, Aedes mosquitoes have adaptable mating behaviour, complicating the study of their communication mechanisms.

is an important forage and extremophilic plant native to the Brazilian Caatinga semiarid region. It has only recently been subjected to omics-based investigations, and the generated datasets offer insights into biotechnologically significant candidates yet to be thoroughly examined. INSs (inositol and its derivatives) and RFO (raffinose oligosaccharide family) pathways emerge as pivotal candidates, given their critical roles in plant physiology.

Objective: To summarize evidence published about the influence of environmental exposure to aluminum, arsenic, barium, cadmium, lead, strontium and mercury on the development of HDP.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review according to the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses.
Lidocaine is the most commonly used local anesthetic worldwide, known for its rapid onset and moderate duration of anesthesia. However, it is short-lived and does not effectively promote effective topical anesthesia in the oral cavity when used alone. Our aim was to investigate whether an approximate 50% encapsulation of lidocaine in poly(ε-caprolactone) nanocapsules (LDC-Nano) would be able to increase its permeation and analgesic efficacy and reduce cytotoxicity.

Accessibility, patient acuity, and high turn-over may limit its applicability and utilization. The goal is to characterize the role of robotic cholecystectomy (CCY) in a busy acute care surgery (ACS) practice at a quaternary medical center, and compare surgical outcomes and resource utilization between robotic and laparoscopic CCY.

The majority of these patients require non-operative management (NOM) which can lead to increased length of stay (LOS), readmissions, resource utilization, and throughput delays. Early surgical consultation (SC) for SBO may improve efficiency and outcomes.

Background: The Breakthrough Series model uses learning sessions (LS) to promote education, professional development and quality improvement (QI) in healthcare. Staff divergences regarding prior knowledge, previous experience, preferences and motivations make selecting which pedagogic strategies to use in LS a challenge.
Aim: We aimed to assess new active-learning strategies: two educational games, a card game and an escape room-type game, for training in healthcare-associated infection prevention.
This study aimed to analyze the application of the Phytoplankton Community Index-PCI and Functional Groups-FG in determining the water quality of the Guamá River (Pará, Amazônia, Brazil). Samplings occurred monthly for analyses of phytoplankton and physical and chemical parameters, for two years, at the station where water was collected for human supply consumption. Seasonality influenced electrical conductivity, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, transparency, winds, true color, and N-ammoniacal.
