Purpose: To assess the ability of the Dolphin air-pulse aesthesiometer to present multiple stimuli, which are separated temporally (in sequence) or spatially (simultaneously).

Methods: Two studies were performed to explore the cooling effects induced by double air-puff stimuli generated by a novel aesthesiometer composed of two micro-blower integrated units. The stimuli were delivered sequentially or simultaneously at the same or different spatial locations to an in vitro eye model monitored using thermography.

Purpose: To assess the feasibility of using multifunction instruments to measure axial length for monitoring myopia progression in children and adults.

Methods: Axial length was measured in 60 children (aged 6-18 years) and 60 adults (aged 19-50 years) with multifunction instruments (Myah and Myopia Master) and stand-alone biometers (Lenstar LS900 and IOLMaster 700). Repeatability (measurements by the same examiner) and reproducibility (measurements by different examiners) were computed as the within-subject standard deviation (Sw) and 95% limits of agreement (LoA).

The dichroic macular pigment in the Henle fiber layer in the fovea enables humans to perceive entoptic phenomena when viewing polarized blue light. In the standard case of linearly polarized stimuli, a faint bowtie-like pattern known as the Haidinger's brush appears in the central point of fixation. As the shape and clarity of the perceived signal is directly related to the health of the macula, Haidinger's brush has been used as a diagnostic marker in studies of early stage macular degeneration and central field visual dysfunction.
