Analysis of molecular-genetic polymorphism of barley varieties was performed using AFLP-method. A system for identification and differentiation of barley varieties based on AFLP-markers was developed. Results of testing for 19 varieties indicate a high differential ability of the developed system.

The modification particularities of the structural and functional state of the inner mitochondrial membrane of the rat liver and myocardium were observed in conditions of artificial hypobiosis, which was created using hypoxic and hypercapnic gas medium with a body temperature reduction. Under the artificial hypobiosis the activity of NAD.H-generating enzymes of the Krebs cycle of the liver mitochondria decreases.

The chemical synthesis of a modified gene fragment that codes IgG-binding domain of protein G of Streptococcus sp. (SPG) was done. Two copies of gene fragmentes SPG were cloned into plasmid vector pET-24(a), for expression of recombinant truncated protein G (rSPG) in the culture of Escherichia coli.

Influence of the conditions of artificial hibernation on the content of ATP, ADP, AMP, cAMF in the blood and liver of rats is studied. It is established, that the entering and stay of animals in the conditions of artificial hibernation is accompanied by a decrease of the content of ADP and P(l). The animal coming out of the condition of artificial hibernation is accompanied by an increase of the content of ATP and cAMP and achievement in twenty-four hours of the level of monitoring values.

Metabolic processes were investigated in the rabbit organism when modeling a condition of hibernation. It is established that during hibernation respiratory subcompensated acidosis develops in animals; the content of lactate and glutamate rises in their blood; activity of lactate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase and isocytrate dehydrogenase increases in the liver cytosol of rabbits, while activity of pyruvate carboxylase and aldehyde dehydrogenase is reduced.

The article deals with some data on investigation of the blood acid-base balance main blood indices and metabolic processes in the rats organism under the artificial hibernation and trivial anesthesia at the foreleg amputation. This model of the artificial hibernation was shown as capable to be promising the hard and complicated operative intrusions in the organism.

We have developed diagnostic system for revealing 35S promoter CaMV and transgene CryIIIA in transgenic potato NL Russet Burbank and NL Superior companies Monsanto. Using the data about nucleotide sequences of 35S promoter (AF234316 GenBank) and gene CryIIIA (X70979 GenBank) oligonucleotides primers were synthesized for polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The technique of genomic DNA isolation from plant material, suitable for PCR has been optimized.

The paper presents results of investigations on some mechanisms of metabolic adaptation in mammals. There are four sections in the tissue metabolic system of acid-base homeostasis: polyamines as factors of metabolic adaptation; significance of carbon dioxide for metabolic response formation in hypobiosis; polyamines metabolism in hypobiosis. Peculiarities of intermediate metabolism have been analyzed in animal tissues under the changes in H+, CO2 and HCO3- concentrations.

High CO2 concentrations in the inspired air have been studied for their effect on the free-radical oxidation of lipids in the lipids in the blood, its serum and mitochondria of the rat liver under artificial hypobiosis. Kinetics of free-radical oxidation of lipids was estimated from the changes in chemiluminescence parameters as well as the content of products which react with thiobarbituric acid. It is found that in animals in the state of artificial hypobiosis the intensity of free-radical oxidation of lipids was rather less as compared with animals which did not fall into hypobiosis because of the exclusion of CO2 from the inspired air.

Experiments on rats have shown an important role of hypercapnia in the development of condition of artificial hibernation in combination with influence of hypothermia, hypoxia and hypercapnia. It is proved that the joint action of hypothermia, hypoxia and hypercapnia has induced development of respiratory acidosis and hibernation in animals, while removal of the hypercapnia effect has induced development of acute metabolic acidosis and death of animals. It has been found that animals in the state of artificial hibernation have considerable changes in concentrations of main electrolytes (Na+, K+, Ca+, Mg2+, phosphates, Cl-) and metabolites (NH3, glutamine, urea) in blood as well as in activity of enzymes (glutamaldehydrogenase, glutaminase, arginase) in tissues of the liver and kidneys.
