[Place of antithrombin III concentrate in the intensive care of disseminated intravascular coagulation].

The paper presents provisional data on the use of antithrombin III concentrate in the therapy of disseminated intravascular coagulation. Correction of insufficient antithrombin III activity in the complex therapy of thrombinemia and multiple organ dysfunctions is pathogenetically substantiated.

[Effectiveness of using the drug Kan-Yang in children with acute respiratory viral infection (clinico-functional data)].

A randomized trial of the effectiveness of the preparation Kan-Yang (Sweden) consisting of andrographis and eleutherococcus extracts was performed in 53 children with acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI). 40 ARVI children given conventional treatment served control. It is shown that in early acute noncomplicated respiratory disease Kan-Yang tablets relieves considerably the treatment course and promoted cure in good tolerance.

[The evaluation of the mechanism of intracerebral parenchymatous hemorrhages under different types of dynamic loads on the brain].

Possible mechanisms of intracerebral hemorrhages in craniocerebral injuries are analyzed. Comprehensive pathomorphological, topographoanatomical, and expert studies helped the authors disclose the biophysical processes in the cranial cavity. These processes act as internal damaging factors and underlie the formation of intracerebral hemorrhages.

[An unusual course of viral hepatitis A in children].

To determine the present-day specific clinical features of viral hepatitis A (HA) in children, observation on 447 children aged 1 year and 10 months to 14 years with verified HA monoinfection was carried out. At the season of 1993 essential differences were observed in the clinical picture of HA: the disease took a more severe course with the prevalence of medium-severe (59.3%) and severe (3.

[Lipid peroxidation and composition of the erythrocyte membranes in patients with viral hepatitis B].

A study is presented of lipid peroxidation and composition of lipids in erythrocyte membranes in 39 patients with viral hepatitis B. It was established that the content of free cholesterol, lyzophosphatidylcholins, malonic dialdehyde, lipohydroperoxides showed an increase while the level of phospholipids and antioxidant activity decreased in all patients. In patients with viral hepatitis B cytolytic syndrome the content of phosphatidylcholins and sphingomyelins was reduced while in those with cholestasis syndrome the content of phosphatidylethanolamines was reduced.

[Experience in the use of disposable packages for sterilization of medical items].

Disposable packages for medical items sterilization, manufactured by Vipack Medical (Finland) have been tested to demonstrate that it is strongly advisable that they may be employed at the treatment and prophylactic institutions of the USSR. The nomenclature of the packages holding promise for use has been delimited.

[Cathepsin activity in the myocardium and skeletal muscles as a sign of the time of death].

Determination of postmortem interval according to the time course of cathepsins activity within 5 days since death was carried out using myocardium and skeletal muscles of white breedless rats and cadavers of people who died of craniocerebral trauma. Natural time course of changes in cathepsins activity was determined which makes it possible to use these values as one of criteria in determination of postmortem interval.
