Purpose: The aim of the present study was to identify more effective laboratory markers to assess the severity of corona virus disease 2019 and predict the progression of the disease by collecting more laboratory markers and variables.
Patients And Methods: In this study, most risk factors, including epidemiological characteristics, blood cell counts, cytokines, and infection markers, were collected from 126 patients with COVID-19 to assess their predictive value.
Results: The area under curve (AUC) of Albumin (Alb) to fibrinogen (Fib) ratio (AFR) (0.
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a global health concern with persistently high incidence and mortality rates. However, the specific pathogenesis of CRC remains poorly understood. This study aims to investigate the role and pathogenesis of serine and arginine rich splicing factor 10 (SRSF10) in colorectal cancer.

Both the acute phase of the disease and the adverse effects of anti-cancer treatments can lead to a poor prognosis. The N-methyladenine (mA) modification plays an important regulatory role in various physiological and pathological processes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is an aggressive malignancy originating from hematopoietic stem cells. Imatinib (IM), the first-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has greatly improved theliving quality of CML patients. However, owing to the recurrence and treatment failure coming from tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKIs) resistance, some CML patients still bear poor prognosis.

The generation of pain is mainly reflected in the activation of glial cells and the abnormal discharge of sensory neurons, which transmit stronger sensory information to the center. P2Y12 receptor plays important roles in physiological and pathophysiological processes including inflammation and pain.

The aim of this study is to analyze the biological characteristics and identify the diagnostic markers of CML. We obtained the expression profiles from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and identified 210 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between CML and normal samples.

Background: An increasing number of studies have revealed the influencing factors of ferroptosis. The influence of immune cell infiltration, inflammation development and lipid metabolism in the tumor microenvironment (TME) on the ferroptosis of tumor cells requires further research and discussion.
Methods: We explored the relationship between ferroptosis-related genes and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from the perspective of large sample analysis and multiomics, used multiple groups to identify and verify ferroptosis-related molecular patterns, and analyzed the sensitivity to ferroptosis and the state of immune escape between different molecular pattern groups.
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common malignancy of the hematological system, and there are currently a number of studies regarding abnormal alterations in energy metabolism, but fewer reports related to fatty acid metabolism (FAM) in AML. We therefore analyze the association of FAM and AML tumor development to explore targets for clinical prognosis prediction and identify those with potential therapeutic value.
Methods: The identification of AML patients with different fatty acid metabolism characteristics was based on a consensus clustering algorithm.
Accumulated genetic mutations are an important cause for the development of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but abnormal changes in the inflammatory microenvironment also have regulatory effects on AML. Exploring the relationship between inflammatory response and pathological features of AML has implications for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation. We analyzed the expression variation landscape of inflammatory response-related genes (IRRGs) and calculated an inflammatory response score for each sample using the gene set variation analysis (GSVA) algorithm.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Imatinib (IM), a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), has markedly improved the survival and life quality of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients. However, the lack of specific biomarkers for IM resistance remains a serious clinical challenge. Recently, growing evidence has suggested that exosome-harbored proteins were involved in tumor drug resistance and could be novel biomarkers for the diagnosis and drug sensitivity prediction of cancer.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been widely explored in cancer tumorigenesis. However, their roles in CML remain largely unclear.

Cardiac fibrosis is a hallmark of cardiac remodeling associated with nearly all forms of heart disease. Clinically, no effective therapeutic drugs aim to inhibit cardiac fibrosis, owing to the complex etiological heterogeneity and pathogenesis of this disease. A two-in-one protein structure, a ubiquitous expression profile and unique biophysical characteristics enable the involvement of transient receptor potential melastatin-subfamily member 7 (TRPM7) in the pathogenesis and development of fibrosis-related cardiac diseases, such as heart failure (HF), cardiomyopathies, arrhythmia and hyperaldosteronism.

Material And Methods: High performance liquid chromatography, Hoechst staining assay, and western blotting analysis were used to detect intracellular drug concentrations, cell apoptosis, and protein expression in the presence of cetuximab, irinotecan, and the combination of both.
Results: Cetuximab was found to increase intracellular concentrations of irinotecan as well as cytotoxicity by inhibiting the epidermal growth factor receptor and, by extension, the downstream RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling pathway.
Catalytic pyrolysis of biomass wastes is a promising way to produce aromatics. Based on the conventional CaO/ZSM-5 system, this study aims to improve the aromatics yields by developing an upgraded system which combined nanosized ZSM-5 with CaO from organic calcium precursors (Org-CaO/NZSM-5). The results showed that the aromatics proportion in bio-oil from pyrolysis of Jatropha de-oiled cake with Org-CaO/NZSM-5 increased to 93%.

To investigate the role of H19 in the development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), 76 NSCLC tissues samples and their adjacent normal tissue samples were collected. Expression level of H19, and its association with clinicopathological features and overall survival was analyzed.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the genetic polymorphisms of apolipoprotein M (ApoM) and the susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) among Chinese Han population in Lanzhou. Methods Primers for the two single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) sites (rs805296 and rs805297) in ApoM gene were designed and their genotyping methods of polymerase chain reaction-high resolution melting (PCR-HRM) assay were established. Case-control studies were performed among the 599 cases of RA, 194 cases of SLE, 179 cases of AS and 273 matched healthy controls to analyze the correlations between the two SNPs and the susceptibility to rheumatic diseases.
