Enterovirus 71 (EV71) is a causative agent of hand, foot and, mouth disease (HFMD) in young children. It is valuable for virologists to develop a fast method to rescue infectious virus from a viral cDNA clone. Here, we report a method for rapid rescue of infectious EV71 by using cells expressing T7 polymerase.

Receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) serves a crucial role in brain development. is located on the short arm of chromosome 2 (2p23) and exchange of chromosomal segments with other genes, including nucleophosmin (), echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4 () and -fused gene (), readily occurs. Such chromosomal translocation results in the formation of chimeric fusion oncoproteins, which possess potential oncogenic functions due to constitutive activation of ALK kinase.

Article Synopsis
  • EG27I is an enzyme from the mollusk Ampullaria crossean, classified under glycoside hydrolase family 45, which was successfully expressed in the yeast Pichia pastoris using the HFBII secretion signal.
  • After high-cell-density fermentation, a bioactive EG27I with a molecular weight of 27 kDa was purified, achieving a concentration of 47.7 mg/L in the culture medium.
  • The enzyme demonstrated high specific activity (26.8 U/mg) and stability, maintaining activity for up to 40 minutes at 100 °C, and its N-terminal sequence matched that of the natural protein, enabling further research into its structure and function.
