Statement Of Problem: The introduction of intraoral scanners has increased the use of digital technology in dental procedures. However, data on the accuracy of abutment scans according to the distance between the adjacent tooth and the abutment are lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the 3D accuracy of abutment scans according to the distance between the adjacent tooth and the abutment.
This technique allows evaluation of the accuracy of a dental implant's position after computer-guided surgery without postoperative radiography. Once the scanned implant and scan body file were prepared, the position of the placed implant was verified by using a computer-guided implant software program instead of radiography, thus reducing radiation exposure.
