- A total of 110 GBS-positive pregnant women were randomly assigned to receive either probiotics or a placebo before bedtime until delivery, with follow-up GBS testing before childbirth.
- Results showed that 42.9% of women in the probiotic group tested negative for GBS by delivery, compared to only 18.0% in the placebo group, indicating probiotics may effectively reduce GBS colonization.
