Effect of personality traits on socioeconomic inequalities in health, a population-based study.

Objectives: This study aimed to estimate the effects of positive personality traits (PTs) in income and self-rated dental and general health (SRDH and SRGH) associations in a large South Australian sample.

Methods: Cross-sectional analyses were conducted using self-reported data collected from 3578 adults (2015-2016). Multivariable regression models assessed the main effects and interactions of the Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) and income with SRDH and SRGH.

Personality traits and income inequalities in self-rated oral and general health.

The association of low income with poor health is widely recognized, but why some low-income individuals do not experience poor health remains unclear. The aim of this study was to determine whether greater positive personality trait scores modify the association between income and oral and general health-related quality of life (OHRQoL and HRQoL) among a representative sample of the South Australian population. Cross-sectional self-rated questionnaire data from a sample of 3645 adults in 2015-2016 were used for secondary analysis.

Psychometric properties of the EQ-5D-3L in South Australia: a multi-method non-preference-based validation study.

Objective: Although HRQoL tools such as the EQ-5D-3L are significant in determining health status, these measures have not been validated in general populations in Australia. This study aims to psychometrically validate the EQ-5D-3L in a large population sample in Australia for the first time.

Methods: The EQ-5D-3L was included in the Dental Care and Oral Health study (DCOHS), conducted in a South Australian population sample.

Autogenous Transplantation for Replacing a Hopeless Tooth.

Autogenous tooth transplantation (ATT) is a simple and reasonable choice for replacing the missing teeth when a proper donor tooth is available. This report presents a case of successful ATT of a maxillary right third molar for replacement of mandibular right second molar with a concomitant endodontic-periodontal disease. The mandibular second molar was believed to be hopeless due to a severe damage to coronal tooth structure, inappropriate root canal treatment and apical radiolucency.

Nonsurgical Management of an Extensive Endodontic Periapical Lesion: A Case Report.

Long-term success of endodontic treatment is dependent on adequate and appropriate cleaning and shaping of the root canal along with proper and correct obturation of the entire prepared space. This article aims to report an exceptional non-surgical and orthograde endodontic treatment of maxillary right central incisor with an extensive radiolucent lesion in a 17-year-old male. Six and 20-month follow-ups showed significant changes, including bone formation and periapical healing within the lesion.
