Background: Gestational weight gain (GWG) should be managed appropriately because both inadequate and excessive weight gain have negative health consequences for mother and child. Therefore, we report the study design for investigating the effect of nutrition education based on Pender's health promotion model (HPM) through the smartphone app on GWG.
Materials And Methods: This randomized controlled trial (RCT) will be performed on the Internet for intervention by uploading text messages, audio, images, and portable document format (PDF) files via a group in one of the virtual messenger networks with the title "Nutrition education research plan.
Thyroid hormones regulate fetal growth and differentiation of several tissues. Maternal dietary patterns may be correlated with changes in the level of neonatal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). We hypothesized that since maternal nutrition affects birth weight and offspring growth, it may also impact endocrine patterns in offspring.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: We planned to evaluate the association of fetal and maternal thyroid hormones and maternal iodine status with neonates' anthropometric parameters.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, levels of thyrotropin were measured in maternal serum in the first trimester of pregnancy, and thyrotropin (TSH) and free thyroxin (fT4) were measured in cord blood serum samples at birth. Urinary iodine concentration (UIC) levels in random urine samples of mothers were measured in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Introduction: One of the main causes of acquired blindness and impairment in children is ocular trauma. This study aimed to evaluate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of pediatric patients hospitalized with open globe injuries (OGI).
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted on children diagnosed with OGI at a referral Hospital affiliated with Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran, from 2014 to 2018.
Leucine-rich G protein-coupled receptor 5 () is a marker of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in various cancers. Based on different studies, conflicting reports exist on correlation between LGR5 expression and poor prognosis/ clinicopathological parameters in cancer patients. Therefore, our purpose in conducting this study was to investigate correlation between expression and outcomes of cancer patients under study through a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Purpose: Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) are a group of rare genetic diseases and heart involvement is one of the important conflicts in most types, which may cause serious complications. We used M-Mode and two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) to explore cardiovascular involvements in MPS patients.
Method: The present cross-sectional study investigated the frequency of cardiac involvements in MPS patients.
Background: Researchers have shown that diet is associated with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and there are some reports of performed meta-analyses on observational studies. However, very few randomized-controlled trials have systematically summarized. Thus, we reviewed and meta-analyzed the effects of nutritional interventions on risks of gestational hypertension (GH) or/and preeclampsia (PE).

This study was conducted to determine the association between dietary antioxidants intake and plasma TAC during pregnancy with birth outcomes.
Methods: Overall, 220 mother-infant pairs were recruited in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Background: Several studies showed that parenting intervention programs play a core component in early child development. Considering the limited healthcare resources in developing countries, group-session intervention based on care for child development (CCD) guideline might be cost-effective.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted at an outpatient public Pediatrics clinic in Isfahan, Iran.
Epigenetic modifications might be associated with serum triglycerides (TG) levels. This study aims to systematically review the studies on the relationship between the methylation of specific cytosine-phosphate-guanine (CpG) sites and serum TG levels. This systematic review and meta-analysis study was conducted according to the PRISMA 2020 (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) statement.

We aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to summarize and synthesize the current literature and to estimate the pooled magnitude of the underlying association(s) between parental occupational exposures and subsequent risk of NDDs.
Recent Findings: In the meta-analysis of 20 included studies, significant associations were found between parental occupational exposure to pesticides or solvents and the risk of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in offspring.
Recently, there is growing evidence that ambient temperature and seasonal changes are related to the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Thereby, this study was conducted to evaluate the association between seasonal changes and ambient temperature and GDM. We conducted a systematic search in PubMed, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Collaboration for human studies available until the end of 2020.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) is one of the important pregnancy hormones that might be affected by environmental pollutants. The aim of this study is to investigate the probable impacts of maternal exposure to BPA on anthropometric measures of newborns.

Materials And Methods: In this systematic review and meta analyses, a comprehensive search of the literature for the association of maternal exposure to OP pesticides and birth outcome including birth weight, birth length, and head circumference was conducted from scientific databases of MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane library until the end of April 2019. We used the following keyword to identify the relevant studies: "birth weight," "birth length," "pregnancy outcome,""birth outcome," "organophosphate pesticides," and "organophosphate metabolites.
Background: Exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals such as triclosan (TCS) leads to disrupting the endocrine system and consequently effect on the birth outcomes. The findings of studies in this field are controversial.
Materials And Methods: This systematic review and meta analysis was conducted based on the identified published papers in Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed up to November 2019.
Background: Limited experience exists on the relationship between anthropometric measures and dietary antioxidant intake in the pediatric age group. We aimed to investigate the association of dietary antioxidants intake and anthropometric measurement in children and adolescents.
Methods: This nationwide study was conducted in 4270 children and adolescents, aged 6-18 years.
Background And Aim: Little information is available on the use of text messages through mobile phones to address overweight/obesity in children. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a text message-based intervention for weight control and health-promoting lifestyle behaviors of overweight/obese children.
Materials And Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted among overweight/obese school students.
: The present study aimed to determine the association of total dietary phytochemical intake with generalized and abdominal obesity in children and adolescents. : This nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted in 4296 students aged 6-18 years. Dietary phytochemical index (DPI) was calculated as a percentage of daily energy derived from phytochemical-rich foods divided by total daily energy intake.
