Introduction: Calyceal diverticulum (CD) is the outpouching of a calyx into the renal parenchyma, connected by an infundibulum. In this study, we compared the ease of using the aerosol box (AB) with the traditional method during internal jugular vein cannulation attempts (IJVCA).
Methods: The study included 40 patients with COVID-19 who required central venous catheterisation during treatment in the ward.
Background: We aimed to document the anatomical variations of pulmonary fissures found during routine forensic autopsies.
Methods: A total of 256 pairs of lungs were investigated. Presence of any variant and accessory fissures was noted.
Background And Objective: To evaluate the clinical role of the routine use of a drain in an elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy operation applied to patients with symptomatic cholelithiasis not showing acute inflammation.
Method: Following laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder, patients were separated into two groups of 30 each, either with subhepatic drain placement or without. The presence of subhepatic fluid collection was evaluated with transabdominal ultrasonography (USG) at 24 hours postoperatively and on the 7th day.
Hyperreactio luteinalis (HL) is a rare condition that is characterized by bilateral ovarian enlargement and multiple thin walled cysts. Hypersensitivity of the ovary to circulating human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is playing the main role in pathophysiology. HL observed in cases where there is high serum ß-HCG levels, similarly to gestational trophoblastic disease, multiple pregnancies, hydrops fetalis and after fertiliy treatment.
