Introduction: Topical therapies are used in almost all patients with psoriasis. A novel fixed topical combination cream (GN-037) with a lower concentration (0.0356%) of clobetasol 17-propionate (CP) was developed together with urea, salicylic acid, and retinoic acid to provide a better benefit-risk ratio.

Objective: While the relationship between psoriatic arthritis and skin findings is well-known in patients with psoriasis, the relationship between psoriatic arthritis and nail involvement is less known. In this study, it was aimed to examine the frequency of association between nail involvement and psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis.

Materials And Methods: Our study is a retrospective observational study.

Behcet's disease is a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiopathogenesis. Serum vitamin D levels have been reported to be associated with a variety of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases one of which is Behcet's disease. The previous studies about vitamin D in Behcet's disease seem to be focused on 4 main categories; the studies evaluating serum vitamin D levels between patients with Behcet's disease and controls, the studies evaluating serum vitamin D in the susceptibility and pathogenesis of Behcet's disease, the studies evaluating serum vitamin D in clinical involvements and activity of Behcet's disease, and the studies evaluating the effect of serum vitamin D replacement in Behcet's disease.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study evaluated 284 patients with acute urticaria and angioedema to determine the underlying causes and their laboratory values, revealing that many had multiple factors involved.
  • - The majority of patients (77.5%) had at least one precipitating factor, with common triggers including medication (55.3%) and infections (19%), while some showed deficiencies in vital vitamins.
  • - Results indicated that elevated inflammation markers were found in many patients, suggesting a complex interplay of triggers behind the development of these dermatological conditions.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to determine the incidence, demographics, and clinical characteristics of pemphigoid diseases in Turkey, as existing data were limited.
  • - Researchers analyzed 295 patients diagnosed with pemphigoid over one year, finding a higher prevalence of bullous pemphigoid, which accounted for 93.2% of cases, with an overall incidence rate of 3.55 cases per million years.
  • - The study highlighted that gliptin derivative drugs might be a common trigger for bullous pemphigoid, and cardiovascular (27.8%) and neurological (23.7%) diseases were frequently observed alongside these conditions.

Article Synopsis
  • The Baranyi model successfully analyzed growth data of Pseudomonas spp. on button mushrooms stored at various temperatures, showing strong fit metrics (RMSE < 0.193, adjusted-R > 0.975).
  • The maximum specific growth rate was better predicted using the Ratkowsky model compared to the Arrhenius model, leading to a combined model for non-isothermal conditions analyzed numerically.
  • The dynamic model demonstrated high validation performance with bias (0.998), accuracy (1.016), and low deviation values, suggesting it can effectively replace traditional methods for estimating Pseudomonas spp. counts on mushrooms based on temperature and time.

Skin cancer patients with nonmelanoma skin cancer who have the highest risk of disease-specific death are squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics (age, sex), indications, and doses of lesions and radiotherapy (RT), locoregional control (LRC), relapse-free survival (RFS), and overall survival (OS) rates in SCCs of the skin patients treated and followed at our clinic. For this purpose, 153 patients treated with RT and followed between 1996, January and 2018, December were included in the study.

The growth data of Pseudomonas spp. on sliced mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) stored between 4 and 28°C were obtained and fitted to three different primary models, known as the modified Gompertz, logistic and Baranyi models. The goodness of fit of these models was compared by considering the mean squared error (MSE) and the coefficient of determination for nonlinear regression (pseudo-R).

Objective: The main purpose of this research was to crosscheck sleep quality in patients with psoriasis with that in healthy individuals and to evaluate a possible relationship between sleep quality and disease severity in these patients.

Materials And Methods: Fifty-eight patients with plaque psoriasis and 58 age- and gender-matched healthy individuals were included. The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scoring method was used to assess the disease severity in patients with psoriasis.

In this study, Halomonas boliviensis was cultivated on bakery waste hydrolysate and seawater in batch and fed-batch cultures for polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) production. Results demonstrated that bakery waste hydrolysate and seawater could be efficiently utilized by Halomonas boliviensis while PHB contents between 10 and 30% (w/w) were obtained. Furthermore, three methods for bakery waste hydrolysis were investigated for feedstock preparation.

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal, recessively inherited multisystem disease that affects various groups of people originating from the Mediterranean Sea region, most specifically those of Jewish, Turkish, Armenian, and Arabic ethnicity. Recurrent attacks of fever and sterile polyserositis of the peritoneum, synovial membranes, and pleura are the main clinical features, although the clinical features of FMF have been expanded in recent years to also include severe myalgia, scrotal swelling, cardiac involvement, and protracted febrile myalgia syndrome (PFMS). PFMS is seen in only a small percentage of FMF patients and is characterized by severe debilitating myalgia of the upper and lower extremities and high fever, occasionally accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, arthritis/arthralgia, and transient vasculitic purpura mimicking Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP).

Lymphadenopathy (LAP) is a frequent and usually nonspecific feature of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). In spite of the fact that LAP usually carries no risk to the patient, SLE patients with LAP were found to have higher disease activity levels. Besides the disease itself, other causes of LAP such as infections, immunological or malignant diseases must be considered in the differential diagnosis.
