Objectives: Septoplasty is the most frequently performed surgical procedure in patients with nasal obstruction. However, nasal obstruction may persist or recur after septoplasty in some patients. In this study, the authors aimed to determine the causes of nasal obstruction after septoplasty.

A Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patient With Febrile Neutropenia Developing After Intraocular Administration of Bevacizumab.

In this article, we report a case with febrile neutropenia occurring after implementation of intraocular bevacizumab. A 60-year-old female patient who had received intravitreal bevacizumab applied to hospital for oral lesions accompanying fever and neutropenia. In spite of empiric antibiotherapy, patient's clinical condition did not improve.

Hepatic Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Life-Threatening Complication of Liver Transplantation.

Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare but serious complication following liver transplantation. A 50-year-old male patient with ulcerative colitis, sclerosing cholangitis, and end-stage liver disease underwent right lobe transplantation from a living donor. The patient was hospitalized because of impairment in liver function tests and massive pretibial edema three months after surgery.

Serum Copeptin, Pentraxin 3, Anti-Mullerian Hormone Levels With Echocardiography and Carotid Artery Intima-Media Thickness in Adolescents With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Background: The aim of the study was to investigate the presence of possible markers in the prediction of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-related metabolic alterations and cardiovascular events in adolescent PCOS cases and also to investigate the applicability of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) levels for the diagnosis of PCOS.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 75 non-obese women (adolescent PCOS group, n = 25; adult PCOS group, n = 25; control group, n = 25) were included. Measurements of copeptin, pentraxin 3 (PTX3), and AMH serum levels were performed.

Background. Spontaneous orbital haemorrhage is a very rare condition and vision-threatening event. It may occur due to trauma, orbital surgery/injections, orbital vascular anomalies, and a variety of systemic predisposing factors.

Traumatic fronto-ethmoidal encephalocele: a rare case.

Encephalocele is defined as herniation of the brain tissue from a bone defect in the cranium. It may be congenital, traumatic, tumoural or develop spontaneously. Traumatic fronto-ethmoidal encephalocele is rare and should be kept in mind for patients who have suffered trauma.

Role of Oxidative Stress on Vaginal Bleeding during The First Trimester of Pregnant Women.

Background: Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced in many metabolic and physiologic processes. Antioxidative mechanisms remove these harmful species. Our aim was to assess whether serum total antioxidant capacity and total oxidant status altered during first trimester pregnancies with vaginal bleeding.

Giant concha bullosa.

Concha bullosa is the most frequently encountered anatomical variation of the lateral nasal wall characterised with pneumatisation of the middle concha. The incidence of middle concha bullosa varies between 14% and 53%. Patients may often complain of nasal congestion and may in some cases suffer episodes of recurrent acute rhinosinusitis.

Childhood moyamoya disease accompanying Leigh syndrome.

Moyamoya disease is a cerebrovasculopathy of unknown etiology during the course of which the main and terminal veins of the internal carotid artery undergo progressive vein occlusion. Leigh syndrome is a mitochondrial encephalomyopathy that occurs due to "cytochrome c oxidase deficiency" characterized by psychomotor retardation, difficulty in eating, seizures, hypotonia, respiratory disorders and high lactate levels. Many diseases and syndromes have been defined that are associated with Moyamoya disease.

Bilateral multifocal Warthin tumours.

Warthin tumour, also known as papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum, is the second most frequent benign tumour of the parotid gland after pleomorphic adenoma. A 57-year-old man was referred to our hospital with bilateral buccal masses without pain. He presented with a 1-year history of the condition and stated that growth of the mass has accelerated during the last 6 months.

Splenic abscess due to acute brucellosis.

Splenic abscess due to acute brucellosis is a rare event. We report a case of splenic abscess caused by Brucella spp. in a 21-year-old man.

Twin pregnancies with single fetal death: analysis of 38 cases.

The objective of this study is to evaluate fetal and maternal outcomes of twin pregnancies with intrauterine single fetal death. In 13 cases, intrauterine death of one fetus was found during the first trimester; in 25 cases, it was found after the first trimester. Obstetric complications and fibrinogen levels were compared.
