The collective effects of potential drivers on the incidence of non-indigenous species in the Mediterranean: A long-term investigation.

Non-indigenous species (NIS) pose a significant threat to society and the ecosystem in the Mediterranean Sea as well as global ecosystems. These species are introduced into marine environments through a combination of various vectors that are likely interconnected. Therefore, this study collectively investigates shipping activities, environmental dynamics, and socioeconomic factors as causative drivers of NIS incidence in the Mediterranean Sea.

Correlation of Tinnitus Severity Index and Tinnitus Handicap Inventory with Hematological Parameters in Patients with Subjective Tinnitus.

 Tinnitus etiopathogenesis is still unclear and treatment options are controversial despite current advances in medicine.  To analyze the correlation between patients' symptom scores, systemic inflammation, and trombosis biomarkers.  In this prospective study, we evaluated the degree of complaints of subjective tinnitus patients with the tinnitus severity index (TSI) and tinnitus handicap inventory (THI), and correlated these symptom scores with hematological parameters such as the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean thrombocyte volume (MPV), and platelet distribution width (PDW).

The Effect of Nasal Septal Deviation on Frontal and Maxillary Sinus Volumes and Development of Sinusitis.

The purpose of this study was to determine the possible role of nasal septal deviation on volume of maxillary and frontal sinuses. Between February 2011 and October 2013, paranasal sinus computed tomography (CT) findings of 732 patients (410 males, 322 females) who were admitted to Ear Nose and Throat Department of Kayseri Research and Training Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. By excluding the other coexistent sinonasal pathologies, 83 consecutive patients with nasal septal deviations were included in the study.

Survivin expression correlates with nodal metastasis in T1-T2 squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue.

In this study, the correlation between neck metastasis and recurrence was investigated by studying specimens of tongue squamous cell carcinoma patients immunohistochemical with survivin antibodies in the primary biopsy. A retrospective review was conducted at the Academic University Hospital. 46 patients who had squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue, who underwent various types of glossectomy and neck dissections between 1991 and 2008, were evaluated.
