- Researchers aimed to study how curcumin and trehalose, two antioxidants, affect DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) caused by I-131 in human lymphocytes.
- Results showed that after exposure to I-131, DSBs rose significantly, but curcumin and trehalose reduced DSB levels by 42% and 38%, respectively, with curcumin showing a stronger protective effect against the damage.
