Comparison of retrospective and prospective memory in subtypes of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Retrospective and prospective memory deficits play a role in maintaining and perpetuating the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), but less is known about these deficits in different subtypes of OCD. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the retrospective and prospective memory in patients suffering from cleaning, checking, symmetry, and religious obsessions. In a comparative causal method, 60 participants aged 28 to 55, in 2023, were selected by convenience sampling and placed in five groups of individuals with cleaning, checking, symmetry, religious obsessions, and a healthy group.

Investigating the Mediatory Role of Hope and Shame in the Relationship between Caregiver Burden and Quality of Life of Patients with Cancer.

 Patients suffering from cancer need to receive care from their family; however, their family caregivers do this without preparation or training, so their involvement in patients' care results in a caregiving burden that may affect patient's hope and quality of life (QOL).  This study examines the effect of caregiving burden on the QOL of cancer patients ( = 100) with the mediatory role of hope and shame. To achieve this, Persian versions of Zarit Burden Interview, the World Health Organization QOL, Herth Hope Index, and Guilt and Shame Proneness Scale were used.

An investigation of the associations between contingent self-worth and aspirations among Iranian university students.

This study investigated the novel associations between intrinsic and extrinsic aspirations and internal and external domains of contingent self-worth among a sample of 502 Iranian university students. We found a meaningful pattern showing that intrinsic aspirations were positively associated with internal domains, whereas extrinsic aspirations were positively associated with external domains. Our survey data also suggested that the factor structure of the Aspiration Index, as well as the factor structure of the Contingencies of Self-Worth Scale in our Iranian sample were consistent with factor structures of foreign samples.

Psychometric properties of the persian version of the multidimensional scale of perceived social support in iran.

Background: Social support is a complex and multifaceted construct. Thus, It is important that a given social support scale be theoretically grounded and its purview clearly defined. The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability, validity and factor structure of the Iranian version of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS).
