The Center of Cochlear Implantation at St-Petersburg ENT Research Institute was set up in 1997. For three years of its activity 19 cochlear implantations were made in patients of different age. All of them received Combi 40/40+ implants (Med-El, Austria).

On the basis of the analysis of the 2nd World War and local conflicts over the past decade the authors came to a conclusion that precisely minor wounded, as well as minor ill and injured would be the basic source for recouping medical and irretrievable combat losses in active army. The article analyses the possible aspects of stage-by-stage rehabilitation of minimally wounded in the conditions of modern war, and proposes ways for their rapid return to the ranks.

The greatest blood losses are more frequent in penetrating chest wounds than in penetrating abdominal injuries. A great number of wounded contract leukocytosis which is also more frequent among patients with chest wounds.
