Background: Cannabis use among youth is increasing; this study aimed to assess college students' knowledge, attitude, and expectancies toward cannabis use.

Methods: Cross-sectional survey using standardized tools among undergraduate and postgraduate college students in urban Bangalore, India ( = 405).

Results: Ten percent reported past three-month cannabis use, with 1% reporting daily use.

The perception of the employees on handling stress at workplace and effectiveness of stress management programs varies due to multiple internal and external factors. Thus, the present study aims to measure the perceived level of difference in psychosocial stress at workplace following a stress management program. This was an interventional study conducted among 30 public sector employees working in Land Resources Development Department.

Effectiveness of multi-disciplinary structured training program on mentoring and mental well-being for officers and instructors in the Indian Air Force.

Background: The military environment is characterized by unpredictable situations, intensive training, demanding workload, and job-associated stressors, which make it highly stressful. Mentorship and mental well-being training could be beneficial to both officers and the new adolescent recruits of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Aim: This study aimed at evaluating the effect of a multi-disciplinary structured training on mentoring and mental well-being among officers and instructors in the IAF.

Efficacy of video-based relaxation technique to minimize stress in young adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The uncertainty of the pandemic and rapid changes brought forth stressors for young adults as learning shifted to the online mode and most recreational activities required screen time. The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based diaphragmatic breathing relaxation technique in reduction of stress levels amongst young adults during COVID-19 pandemic. A quasi-experimental design with a sample size of 30 young adults undertook pre- and post-tests of subscale of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 21-items (DASS-21), negative emotion questionnaire, and hair cortisol concentration through enzyme-linked-immunosorbent assay technique.

Background: Depression poses a major public health burden and has a large treatment gap in India. The study attempts to address this treatment gap by developing a training video for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), who are community health workers, on brief psychological intervention for depression.

Methods: The systematic steps utilized in the design and development of the training video on depression were: 1) Content development of the video script and training booklet for ASHAs based on the review of research literature and two Focus Group Discussions, 2) Mental Health Professionals' evaluation of the video script and training booklet for ASHAs, 3) Translation from English to Kannada, 4) ASHAs' evaluation of the video script and training booklet for ASHAs, 5) Conversion of the video script into a 'shooting script', 6) Video production, 7) Evaluation of the training video, 8) Post-production of the training video, and 9) Development of the training guide.

Mental health orientation among ASHAs: A study from Karnataka State, India.

Introduction: The high mental health treatment gap in India, necessitates mental health service delivery through the primary health care system. Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) as frontline community health workers are a key member of the primary health care team. The ASHAs training needs related to mental health, require to be determined in order to accordingly tailor capacity-building programs.

Indigenous biobed to limit point source pollution of imidacloprid in tropical countries.

Point pollution of pesticides originating from the washing of spraying machines could be controlled by biobed system and it is in use in temperate countries. The biobed system is yet to be established in tropical countries. An indigenous biobed system was prepared using local resources like rice straw, farm yard manures (FYM) and paddy field soil to suit the tropical climate.

Metal-semiconductor core-shell type Pd@SiO nanoparticles (NPs) were successfully synthesized by Stober's method and the product was characterized by UV-vis, XRD, FT-IR, SEM, HR-TEM and EDX techniques. In vitro Photodynamic activity and DNA binding studies of Pd@SiO core shell nanoparticles were studied. Cell viability of the core-shell nanoparticles against HeLa cell line was screened by MTT assay after exposing at different light doses.

Video-enabled cue based intervention for relapse prevention.

A major goal of long-term management of substance use disorders is to empower recovering individuals in resisting drug use when confronted with real-world high-risk situations (cues). Since opportunities to reproduce and learn from real-life situations are limited in treatment settings, the key is to bring those real-world drug use cues to the treatment setting through vicarious learning. Cue-exposure approaches achieve this by presenting these cues while the usual drug-use response is prevented.

Perceptions of Accredited Social Health Activists on Depression: A Qualitative Study from Karnataka, India.

Background: Depression is a significant public health concern in India, associated with a large treatment gap. Assessing perceptions of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) on depression can be invaluable as they are selected to work at the interface between their own communities and the health-care delivery system.

Aims And Objectives: This study aimed at utilizing a qualitative approach to examine the ASHAs' understanding of depression, their mental health-care practices specific to depression, and their capacity-building needs with regard to identification and helping persons with depression.

Hence the study investigated the important pharmacophore feature required for ATPase inhibitors of HSP70 by generating a ligand based pharmacophore model followed by virtual based screening and subsequent validation by molecular docking in Discovery studio V4.0.
