Objective: Pregnancy with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is considered to be high risk. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of pregnancy on CKD and the fetomaternal outcome in these patients.

Study Design: A retrospective observational study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, All India Institute of medical sciences, New Delhi over a period of 11 years.

Inhalable Particles for "Pincer Therapeutics" Targeting Nitazoxanide as Bactericidal and Host-Directed Agent to Macrophages in a Mouse Model of Tuberculosis.

Nitazoxanide (NTZ) has moderate mycobactericidal activity and is also an inducer of autophagy in mammalian cells. High-payload (40-50% w/w) inhalable particles containing NTZ alone or in combination with antituberculosis (TB) agents isoniazid (INH) and rifabutin (RFB) were prepared with high incorporation efficiency of 92%. Aeromonas hydrophila is a gram-negative fish pathogenic bacterium, also responsible for causing opportunistic pathological conditions in humans. It causes a number of diseases in fish due to which the fish industry incurs huge economic losses annually. Due to problems of antibiotic resistance, and the rapidity with which the infection spreads among fishes, vaccination remains the most effective strategy to combat this infection in fish populations.

Preparation and Preclinical Evaluation of Inhalable Particles Containing Rapamycin and Anti-Tuberculosis Agents for Induction of Autophagy.

Purpose: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) inhibits host defense mechanisms, including autophagy. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the utility of umbilical cord blood culture (UCBC) in neonates at high risk of early onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) in comparison to peripheral venous blood culture.

Molecular simulations of mixed self-assembled monolayer coated gold nanoparticles in water.

Molecular dynamics simulations have been employed to study the hydration of a series of nanoparticles, each of which was coated with a mixed self-assembled monolayer (SAM) comprising methyl- and hydroxy-terminated alkane thiol chains. The mixing ratio of those chains are different for each nanoparticle. The simulations focused on the wetting behavior of the SAM-coated gold nanoparticles and the distribution and structure of their interfacial water molecules.

Beals-Hecht syndrome (congenital contractural arachnodactyly) with additional craniospinal abnormality: a case report.

Beals syndrome is an autosomal-dominant connective tissue disorder, characterized by multiple flexion contractures, arachnodactyly, severe kyphoscoliosis, crumpled ear, and muscular hypoplasia. We reviewed case records of 40 in-patients (22 boys) with serologically confirmed dengue fever between 1st October and 30th November, 2013.
