[Inhibition of the stellate cells using lisinopril and lovastatin for prophylaxis of pancreatic stump fibrosis after performance of distal resection in a model of chronic alcoholic pancreatitis].

Complex application of lisinopril (inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme) and lovastatin (inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase) inhibits pancreatic fibrosis in the rats, having alcoholic chronic pancreatitis after distal pancreatic resection (DPR). Lisinopril and lovastatin were injected to the rats after DPR in dose 10 mg/kg during 3 weeks. Immunohistochemical markets, such as alpha-smooth-muscle actin (alpha-SMA), desmin, glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), vimentin, and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) as well as inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2) were detected for estimation of therapeutic impact on activity and quantity of stellate pancreatic cells.

[Inhibition of pancreatic stellate cell activation by lisinopril for prevention fibrogenesis in experimental chronic alcoholic pancreatitis].

Lisinopril (angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor) attenuates fibrotic changes in pancreas after distal pancreatectomy in rats with experimental alcohol induced chronic pancreatitis. Lisinopril was administered after distal pancreatectomy in rats with experimental alcohol induced chronic pancreatitis. The animals were treated with lisinopril at the dose of 10 mg/kg body weight per day for 21 days after operation.

[The "tourniquet" ischemia-reoxygenation of the extremities as the method of nonmedicinal immunocorrection].

There were adduced the results of studying of cellular and humoral factors of the immunity in a brief-lasting ischemia-reoxygenation of the extremities in 56 patients with surgical diseases and in 31 pupils, in whom the organism reactivity lowering was revealed. It was established, that changes in the ischemia-reoxygenation of the extremities are multifactorial and they are connected primarily with the immunocompetent cells activation. Nonmedicinal method of the "tourniquet" immunocorrection was proposed, which is recommended as a concurrent one - for the recovery acceleration or solely - in the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

[Main principles of antibiotic prophylaxis and antibacterial therapy in abdominal surgery].

The principles of antibioticoprophylaxis and antibacterial therapy in abdominal surgery were expounded. There are adduced the most frequently revealed pathogenic microorganisms, inducing intraabdominal infection, the ways of lowering of the antibacterial therapy expenses, new approaches to application of immunocorrection and directed transport of antibiotics in surgery as well as empirical and etiotropic treatment, basing on the taking account of the spread and antibioticosensitivity of pathogenic microorganisms of nosocomial infections. There was shown, that concentration of interleucin-1beta and tumor necrosis factor-alpha in the blood serum is connected with the severity of patient state.

[Effect of spore-free anaerobic microorganisms of pancreatic tissue in experimental acute pancreatitis].

The simulation model of an acute pancreatitis (AP), using translocation of microorganisms from intestine to ductal system and pancreatic tissue, was created in experiment on dogs. Interrelationships between pancreatic tissue and anaerobic microorganism in an AP were studied, using electron microscopy. Possibility of the microorganisms migration to pancreas from ductal system in early stage of AP due to enhanced reproduction of anaerobic microorganisms in duodenum was established.

[Chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities in patients with post-thrombophlebitic syndrome].

The results of examination and treatment of 734 patients with postthrombophlebitic syndrome of lower extremities were adduced. The pathogenesis diagram for chronic venous insufficiency was proposed. The possibilities of the regional blood flow correction using reconstructive operations on veins were shown.

[The cytological aspects of chronic pancreatitis].

Biopsy material of pancreatic tissue using light-optical radioautography and electron microscopy, and the method of high-precise radioautography also, was investigated to study up the pancreatic gland (PG) pathology in chronic pancreatitis (CHP). It was established that CHP is a chronic proliferative-destructive process causing focal generalized fibrosis of PG. All the structural components of organ, and the duct epithelium first of all, are affected in CHP.

[The effect of polysorb on the course of the wound process].

The peculiarities of a contact of the sorbent particles of a polysorb for medical purposes with the somatic cells have been studied. The destructive action of the preparation its capability to block the functionally active sites of a cellular membrane were revealed. The recommendations on clinical use of a polysorb have been developed.

[Antiviral action of the macromolecular derivative of the platinum with deoxyribonucleic acid in the treatment of patient with malignant liver neoplasm].

Results of the action of a preparation consisting of cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum and deoxyribonucleic acid combined in the saline balanced solution by means of the original technique on cytomegalovirus infection of patients with cancer of the liver are presented. Clearly pronounced antivirus activity of the preparation developed is noted.

[Assessment of the membrane properties of blood leukocytes in patients with purulent septic complications].

Osmotic resistance of leukocytic membranes was studied in 36 patients with purulent-septic complications and in 43 donors. As a damaging medium, 0.45% solution of sodium chloride was used.

[The cytological diagnosis of liver cancer].

A study is presented of 96 patients with primary cancer of the liver. Hepatocellular cancer was diagnosed in 54 patients, cholangiocellular--in 36, low-differentiated--in 6 patients. Hepatocellular cancer was characterized by an increased size of the cells while they maintained likeness with intact liver cells, were characterized by significant anisocytosis, hyperchromia, reticular cytoplasm.

[Ultrastructural changes in neutrophils and anaerobic microorganisms during their interactions in experimental acute intestinal obstruction].

The authors established that 12 h after development of acute obstructive ileus in inactive neutrophil granulocytes (NG), the anaerobic microorganisms were intact, or at the process of division; in the active NG, they were destroyed, or when forming "halo", might preserve and migrate in the matrix of NG. In interaction of NG with microorganisms, the numerous oval and roundish bacterial bodies with a diameter of 0.2-0.

[Ultrastructural features of virus infected hepatocytes in patients with pathology of the hepatobiliary organs].

In electron-microscopic study of the puncture biopsy material in 52 patients with diseases of the hepatobiliary organs in 22% of cases, the liver contamination with the viruses was revealed. They caused destruction of hepatocytes and induced their appearance in the cytoplasma and mitochondria of the protein crystalline inclusions. This was of certain diagnostic and, perhaps, lithogenic importance.
